Do you have left over alphabets such as Q’s and O’s that rarely get used? Today’s inspiration shows you how you can cut them in half and create a whole new look. Shellye McDaniel from Pink Paislee created this darling card using the alphabet letters as her border, and applying them to the edge of the Hope Chest Journal Card.
To hide where the pieces join together, she added an adhesive rhinestone. What a clever way to add a border!
To add a bit more sparkle to her card she lined up a couple of the Hope Chest’s Burlap Butterflies. Adding to them she added the top part of a butterfly clip from Pink Paislee. The shine from the Luxe Gold Chevron paper lends a subtle shimmer giving it that added brightness! I hope this has inspired you to use your extra letters for much more than just words. The possibilities are endless now!
Creativity involves in breaking out of your traditional style. Take a look at your project in a different way, and never hesitate to try something new.
Have a great day!

Wonder what size the original card stock base used is? Also any idea where to get the “Summer Oval Letter Seals”? The link doesn’t work. Nestabilities dies are shown in the supplies needed section but I don’t see where they are used in the sample card? The main paper used says “retired” ??? Does that mean not available??? Any suggestions on other paper that can be obtained?
Hello Crafty! The original designer did not list any sizes, but I suspect this is an A2 size card which is 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ folded in half. Also, I checked all the links and fixed the one for the gold letters. I’m not sure what the Summer Oval Letter Seals is. I think the nestabilities dies is used with white paper at the lower left side of the card. Sometimes we need to get out the Nancy Drew hat to figure this stuff out! Anyway, feel free to use this as inspiration and make it your own. Happy Crafting!
