Christmas Stockings

These adorable little Christmas stockings can be that perfect way of giving a gift this holiday season. They are wonderful for gift cards, small treats, and they can hold a number of small stocking stuffers. The best thing about these stockings are, once the gift has been removed they make wonderful ornaments to hang on the tree. They can be enjoyed each holiday season, and would look cute at a baby shower as booties as well.

These will solve that problem of what to get for that person who is so hard to buy for. The best thing yet is they are so fun to make.

Begin by die cutting the stocking and trim pieces with a variety of fun patterned papers from the collection “Glistening” by Authentique. Distress all the paper pieces lightly with brown ink.

Adhere the toe and heel die cuts to the front of the stocking. You can machine stitch if you desire. Take lace trim and adhere to the bottom of the die cut stocking cuff. Assemble the pieces to create a finished stocking pocket.

Tie your seam binding and hemp around the top of the stocking. Assemble the rosette from the stocking die, add a button to the top. Take a die cut sentiment label and attach it under the rosette, then add a button.

Take a die cut felt snowflake and adhere it under the rosette. Adhere them to the center of the cuff. Tuck the sentiment label into the side. Take a wire hangar to create a handle to hang. You can use ribbon for the handle as well.
