As crafters, we all have a need to store our tools and supplies. With that in mind I knew that this darling Altered Box by Clare Charvill for Graphic 45 was a great inspiration piece. Why not store your treasure in style? 🙂
Who would have ever thought that this beautifully altered box started out as a plain paper mache box. Clare began by painting the box black, then used yellow, red and black papers from the Botanicabella Collection. She added a few cut out elements to the inside and outside of the lid to add a little detail. To finish, Clare added a metal ornate key hole and ornate metal label holder from the staples collection. The perfect accessory.
I hope this project has inspired you to update your storage system with several of these beautiful yet functional boxes. The possibilities are endless. I have several vintage suit cases that have an altered future:). You really can cover any box that you have.
So choose a paper line that you love, start covering those mismatched storage boxes and before long you will have a perfectly coordinated craft room. 🙂
