Season’s Greetings

I absolutely love the chalkboard effect that Kristi used on this sweet Christmas card. The stamped image just seems to pop off the page when stamped with Versa Mark & heat embossed using white embossing powder.

Here’s how Kristii got the chalkboard effect on the card:

Start with some black patterned paper (or you could use solid black cardstock) & then stamp the main image with Versamark, sprinkle fine white embossing powder over the image and then heat it with your heat gun.  Then she shadow stamped the image using white ink just shifting the image slightly to create the shadow effect.  Finally, Kristi used a paper towel and blended some white ink onto the background to add to the chalkboard effect.  Very clever.

This is a fun technique that’s rather easy and very effective. I hope you give it a try.
