Hexagons are still the latest trend. I just love working with hexagons and for some crazy reason I really never get tired of them. This fun die cut is from Sizzix Bigz Die. This is a must have die if you don’t already have it. I would like to thank Leica Forrest for sharing this fabulous layout. She is one of the wonderful designers for Sizzix.
To start this great layout, Leica started cutting out hexagons out of coordinated paper patterns. This is a great way to use up those extra little scraps you have been saving. She inked around each hexagon making them pop out a bit more.
You will take your hexagons and start placing them on your background paper in the pattern of your choice. On this layout Leica embellished a few of the hexagons with little embellishments such as rhinestones, a tile square, and a heart. This again will be a great way to use some of your supplies in your stash.
With Sizzix Sizzlits Decorative Strip – Artful Works Die Leica created a title. She also used some words that described her son and stacked them below the title. By adding her photo over the hexagons, this seemed to give it some dimension.
Creativity involves in breaking out of your traditional style. Take a look at your project in a different way, and never hesitate to try something new.
Have a wonderful day scrapbooking!
