It is so hard to believe that Halloween is just around the corner! This spooky Halloween card is perfect to send out to family and friends. Pull out some fun new stamps from Tim Holtz, along with your inks, and put your creative mind to work. This fun card was created by Emma Williams; be sure to pop over to her blog That’s Life for more of her outstanding projects.
To begin, apply some Distress Stain to your craft sheet. Spritz with water and then take a piece of white cardstock and swoosh the card through the stains. This will produce random patterns that are perfect for your Halloween background.
Ink the spider’s web with black Archival Ink and stamp the image in the two corners of the card. Using the Blueprint 2 stamp from Tim Holtz, stamp three pumpkins separately onto watercolor card. Paint the pumpkins using a water brush and Distress Marker Pens. Fussy cut each one out and set them aside.
Next, use those fun cats from the Tim Holtz Halftone Halloween stamp and stamp them directly onto your background.
Take some foam pads and attach your painted pumpkins around the cats, making the cats look as though they are poking up from behind the pumpkins.
Add some cheesecloth tucked underneath the pumpkins. Stamp the sentiment “Happy Halloween” on a piece of inked cardstock. Cut it out and apply it on top of the pumpkins and cheesecloth.
To give the card a final touch, die cut a pediment and paint with a layer of Inky Pool Fresco Finish Paint. Next, add a layer of Paper Artsy Crackle Glaze and finish it with a coat of Snowflake Fresco Finish Paint. Pop on one of Tim’s Crossbones in the center.
To complete the card, mat it onto cardstock layers. Using a white gel pen, add some white dashed background around the main image. What a treasure this will be for those lucky family and friends who receive this terrific Halloween card
