It is definitely sweater season here in Utah. It is so cold outside! How about in your neck of the woods? This adorable sweater card will certainly warm someones heart. Created by Gayle Wheeler, this project was found on the Stampingville blog. Such a fun card to make and it is so adorable!
These sweater cards are not complicated at all. Mostly just playing with embossing folders and adding your embellishments.
This sweater features a crew neck, buttons, and pockets with contrasting trim. The crew neck is created using two circle framelits nested to die-cut the circle shape before embossing with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder. Here is a tip for you: Be sure to finish all of your cutting before you do your embossing. If you run the piece through the embossing machine again after you have embossed, it will flatten the texture.
To create the pockets Gayle used one of the Hearts A Flutter Framelits Dies. She cut off the bottom portion, or you could use a 1″ Square punch and round off the corners with a Corner Punch. Buttons can be made from brads, buttons, punched dots, pearls, or little baubles. It would be cute to add a little tiny tag coming out of the pocket, or how about a fancy flower or leaf embellishment to emulate a pin or brooch?
Add a fuzzy sentiment inside such as, Warm Wishes, Warmest Thanks, or Thinking Of You… on a cold winter day. A big Thank you to Gayle for sharing today’s inspiration.
Hope you have a warm fun day crafting.
