Hey, everyone! Roree here with another Make It! Monday project. Today I am sharing a fun way to create a metallic finish on cardstock.

I found this cute image on the Close to my Heart Artistry cartridge in Cricut Design Space and I knew right away that I wanted to use it on a card.

I decided to use the new My Story collection from My Mind’s Eye for the card. It has so many gorgeous patterned papers with gold accents. I thought it would look really pretty for the die cut image to be cut with a gold metallic cardstock, but I didn’t have any in my stash. What I did have was some gold embossing powder, some embossing ink, and a heat tool. With those items and a cardstock die cut, I got to work.

I started by covering the entire die cut with embossing ink.

I then covered the die cut with embossing powder.

After it was completely covered, I shook off all of the excess powder.

I used my heat tool to set the embossing powder.

My cardstock die cut now had the shiny, metallic gold finish I had originally wanted.

I finished the card by adding the die cut to a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2″ card and dressed it up with more patterned paper, brads, and enamel shapes.
