Hey there, and welcome to Inspiration Station with Becki Adams. Can you believe it’s September? The Summer has flown by and we’re just a few days away from Labor Day weekend. I’m so excited for Fall, it’s my favorite season. I love everything about Fall; the colors, the cooler weather, the routine that “back to school” brings, I love it all!
Today the card I’m sharing with you is full of warm Fall colors. I want to share a simple technique with you for creating the scalloped border around the frame of this card. I started this card by pulling a few scraps of patterned paper from the Harvest collection by Pebbles and a circle punch.
After I punched several circles from a few different patterned papers, I cut them in half with a pair of sharp scissors.
After I cut the circles in half, I adhered the semi-circles to the edge of the frame. I placed the circles at the edge of the frame in random order, making sure that the same patterns weren’t touching.
In the center of the frame I added a little bit of texture with a wood grain embossing folder and a scrap of kraft cardstock.
I used gold Thickers to create the simple “thanks” sentiment.
Right under the sentiment I added a beautiful gold sequin border.
The final touch to this card was a little bit of machine stitching on the edges of the frame.
I can’t wait to send this card to a sweet friend. I hope it will brighten their day! Thanks for joining me today… see you next Thursday!
Stickin’ cute!
Great tip thanks….
What a simple, yet pretty technique. Thanks for sharing!
