Hello, and welcome to another Inspiration Station! I’m so glad you’ve found your way here. Today I wanted to share a card I created that came from a box of preprinted greeting cards. As a papercrafter I cringe (and most of the time refuse) when I need to I buy a greeting card. They’re so expensive and I have all the supplies needed to make a greeting card, but I don’t always have the time to create one. I purchased a box of preprinted cards and decided that I would add a few embellishments to the card to make it a little more personal.
The box of greeting cards I bought is from American Crafts from the Dear Lizzy Fine and Dandy Collection. These cards are adorable and have matching envelopes.
I chose to work with a card that is just plain white with gold foiled polka dots.
The first thing I did was add the sentiment, using stickers from October Afternoon.
After the sentiment was in place, I added a kraft tag just above the sentiment.
To bring a little bit more color I added a pink doily (from Doodlebug Design) and a dimensional sticker from Crate Paper.
I finished the card by stitching the letter stickers down with my sewing machine just to make sure they didn’t move and also to add a little bit of texture.
This card took me only minutes to create with a premade card base. This card now has a lot of personality and is ready to go in the mail!
Thanks for joining me today! Come back next Thursday for another edition of Inspiration Station.
Great idea to use up premade cards!
Thanks Connie! I’m glad you liked my ideas! <3
