Technique Spotlight with Paige Evans: Halloween

Paige-technique-header

My favorite time of year is finally here: HALLOWEEN! Well, I know it’s not until the 31st, but you can bet that on the first day of October the decorations come out and we spookify our home, start planning our costumes, and watch scary movies non-stop! Today I’d like to share a few of my favorite Halloween-themed layouts, a pair of cards, and a mini album! And, be sure to check out the new Halloween-themed class I’m teaching over at Big Picture Classes called SPOOK-TACULAR PROJECTS!

I recently created this layout featuring the new After Dark collection by Crate Paper paired with Minc embellishments! I love how it shines from every angle.

I had fun backing a large die cut spider web with Halloween-themed papers and then making it a bit more realistic with stitching – reminds me of spider webs!

Halloween Mini

I don’t consider myself a big mini album-maker, but when I sat down with this orange mini album and a handful of Halloween supplies – I was hooked! It came together so fast and easy! I’ve even ordered a few more of these albums by We R Memory Keepers and can’t wait to make more minis – something I’d never thought I’d say!

Who wouldn’t love to receive a Halloween card in the mail?! (Well, maybe not everyone, but I know I sure would!). I used the new Halloween collection by American Crafts to create this card duo.

I love documenting the costumes my kids wear every Halloween on layouts – and they’re actually my son’s favorite pages to look at. He specifically asks to see the Halloween scrapbooks. Like mother, like son. 🙂

I’m counting down the days until Halloween and can’t wait to make more layouts about this eerie holiday!
