Hello friends, welcome to Inspiration Station, I’m Becki. I’m thrilled you’ve made your way here today. The 4th of July is right around the corner, and I have a couple of cards to share with you today that I know you’ll love. I created them with a few bits and pieces from the new America the Beautiful collection from Pebbles, some washi tape, and my Silhouette Cameo.
I started with a few strips of washi tape in a red, white, and blue color scheme. I arranged the strips of washi tape on scraps of white cardstock. Smooth cardstock works best for this technique. Then I placed the cardstock scraps on my Silhouette mat. The Silhouette cut right through the washi tape/cardstock scraps perfectly.
I cut a star and the “USA” portion of my cards with this washi tape/die cut technique. I embellished the rest of the card with stickers and a few sprinkles of gold spray ink.
The “USA” was the most intricate of the two cuts I made. It worked beautifully! I am so excited with how these cards turned out.
Adding pop dots to a few elements of my card made the card have a little more depth and interest. The Statue of Liberty is also adhered with pop dots.
I stitched with plain white thread around the perimeter of the card. I always sew around the card front before I attach it to the card base so I don’t have to worry about covering up any stitching holes on the inside of my card.
I added just a few stickers to the giant washi tape star to finish this card. I used the same technique with machine stitching and pop dots.
I can’t wait to share these cards with friends and family for our 4th of July parties. If you love these cards, you’ll also really love this easy DIY July 4th home decor. Thanks for stopping by the Weekly Scrapper blog. I’ll see you next week. Have a happy and safe 4th of July!
