Hey, everyone! Roree here with another Make It! Monday project. Today I am sharing a gift bag I created for Halloween using corrugated cardboard, a gesso-painted patterned paper, and embellishments.
First I started with a piece of cardboard I cut from an old mailing box. I cut it to 4 x 5″ so that it would fit the front of my gift bag.
I peeled back one of the covers to reveal the corrugation on the inside of the cardboard.
I used a sanding block to clean up the corrugated cardboard.
For the moon, I cut out a 4″ circle from patterned paper. But instead of using white cardstock, I decided to use a patterned paper. I really liked the chevron pattern on this patterned paper, but I thought it would be too busy. So, I painted the patterned paper with White Gesso from The Crafter’s Workshop.
I painted it just enough to lose the orange but still see a hint of the chevron pattern.
After the paper dried, I adhered it to the cardboard panel and decorated it with embellishments from October Afternoon‘s Witch Hazel collection.
I then adhered the finished panel to my bag.
I hope you enjoyed today’s Make It! Monday project. Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a Happy Halloween!
