Hello and welcome back to Weekly Scrapper! I’m hoping today finds you all enjoying your summer and finding time to be creative. I’m honored to have the opportunity to share the following projects with you so sit back, relax, and enjoy; it’s time to enjoy a little creative time!
Fragile – A Flair for Buttons by Riikka Kovasin
I am excited to share this layout designed by the amazing Riikka; she ‘s one of the great mixed media queens of our time. Scrapbooking can be very therapeutic – it allows us time to release our feelings and document our journey through this crazy thing we call life. The challenges we experience are an important part of who we are so it is important that they also be included in our scrapbooks. Color can be a powerful tool when designing a layout and Riikka chose an almost monochromatic look using various shades of grays to express how she was feeling at the time.
I’d like to send out a virtual hug to Riikka for sharing this heartfelt layout with us. I highly recommend stopping by her blog Paperiliitin anytime you are in need of some serious inspiration. Riikka has a silent video showing how easily this layout comes together, so click here and I will be happy to escort you over.
Two For The Price Of One! by Alison Hall
It’s time to break out your favorite stencils and create some beautiful art. I discovered two amazing cards on the That’s Blogging Crafty blog and immediately knew I had to share the inspiration. These are cards that will definitely bring a smile to whoever receives one of them, after all, isn’t that why we take the time to create those handmade treasures that we send through the mail?
Click here and I will take you over to spend some creative time with Alison as she shares step-by-step instructions to recreate this work of art. With a little help from our creative friends like Alison, we can all pay it forward by sharing smiles one handmade card at a time.
A Special Note Of Thanks by Sabrina
It was the beautiful summer colors that first attracted me to this darling card. Sabrina used Stampin’ Up’s new Floral Phrases stamp set along with their Stampin’ Write Markers to stamp the gorgeous floral images. The second thing that caught my eye was how she brings the details into the inside of the card. I must confess I don’t always give the inside of my cards the love that they deserve. 🙁
Check out the inside… so pretty!
It’s essential to let those special people in our lives know just how important they are to us and that we appreciate them. I hope you’ve been inspired to create one of your handmade cards and actually mail it. It’s OK – we all love to make cards but they don’t always make it to the mailbox. 😉 Everyone enjoys that feeling of opening the mailbox and finding a handmade card, it’s like receiving a hug through the mail.
