Hello my crafty friends, and welcome back to Weekly Scrapper! Can you believe that we are almost into October; what happened to the year? It seems to have gone by in the blink of an eye. With that said, I’m thinking we need to get a handle on our preparation for the upcoming holidays. This is the year that we have things under control and we’re gonna be sipping eggnog by the fireplace on Christmas Eve NOT running around finishing last minute gifts, right? Not to worry, if it’s too early for you to start your holiday crafting, just pin the ideas for when you are.
Live Your Adventure
Getting ready for the holidays doesn’t have to mean red and green. Have you thought about giving the gift of memories to someone special this year? When I discovered this amazing work of art on Trudi’s blog, I fell in love with the grungy-mechanical-steampunk design. With my mind creatively spinning, I thought wouldn’t this be adorable in a frame to gift to one of my friend who lives 3000 miles away and doesn’t get to see my daughter very much? Then much to my delight, I went onto to the Michael’s website to see what 12 x 12″ frames were available and I found this 12 x 12″ ArtMinds™ Chicken Wire Frame for only $7.99 Can you believe it?
Can you see where I’m going with this one? Now our framed scrapbook layout turns into a one-of-a-kind jewelry holder. I can see Brighton earrings hanging on it as we speak! 😉 You can also use it as a memory board or photo display. Use your own miniature clothespins to display photos, kids’ art, notes, memorabilia, and much more. Stain or paint the wood frame to match your décor. If you’d like to follow along as Trudi shares just how easily this work of art comes together, click here and I’ll escort you over to her blog. The gift of memories, as they say, priceless!
Gift Card Holders
We all need gift card holders – right? I discovered these adorable and oh-so-versatile gift card holders over on the Frilly and Funkie Blog and I immediately knew I had to share the love. Not only are there three different designs but the bonus is that we don’t have to purchase any special dies because the creative girls over on the blog have provided a template for not only this one, but also two others.
Check out how cute the inside looks. Who wouldn’t love a little shopping spree on you!
Hugs to the amazingly talented design team over on Frilly & Funkie for sharing their holiday inspiration. I hope you’ve been inspired to create your own gift card holders, then all you have left to do is spin the rack at the grocery store and pick their favorite gift cards. Handmade cards really add that personal touch!

Every season has its definitive, nostalgia-inducing scent and these mulling spices definitely smell like Christmas. Holiday scents can help combine both the past and present memories while evoking a warm and cozy, homey feeling.
This idea may not be new to many of you, but what Kellie’s done is to make this really easy to give as gifts. Whether you need a hostess, teacher, Sunday school, or co-worker gift – this is the perfect pishky and if you click here I will take you over to Kellie’s blog Nest Of Posies so you can print out her free printable labels that fit perfectly in the lid of the ring. You might want to make a few extra to keep on hand in case someone unexpected drops by. 😉
Stained Glass Technique with White Embossing on Vellum
Ok, let’s step away from the holidays for a bit. While spending some quality time on Catherine Pooler’s blog I discovered this beautiful card and I absolutely adore this technique! I love it when something this gorgeous comes together so quickly – don’t you?
Hot Ham & Cheese Party Rolls
Are you looking for a yummy appetizer for those upcoming holiday events? Then you are going to love these easy to make Ham & Cheese Party Rolls. The inside is soft, gooey, and cheesy. The outside is browned and crispy, they are sure to be a hit with your guests, so sit back, enjoy and let the compliments roll in! 😉
These tasty morsels are perfect for your next scrapbook event or family party because you can assemble everything the night before (even with the glaze!) and bake them the next day so that leaves more time for you to enjoy your guests. Be sure to stop by Kevin & Amanda’s Blog so you can print out the recipe and most likely, pick up a few more easy to make goodies for the holidays.
I still can’t believe that there are only three more Stamp & Scrapbook Expos and our 2016 season comes to an end, that means I’m not flying anywhere for three months and I’m so excited to start my holiday crafting as well as preparing for an exciting 2017 season of new projects to share with you in the Creativity Center. So now you know why I’m chomping at the bit to get my holiday craft on, I promise not to break out the holiday music until mid-November! LOL
ohmygoodness. thank you so much for sharing!
You’re welcome Kellie, I love’d your idea, it’s on my bucket list this season & I’m happy to share with our fellow crafters. Thanks for the inspiration.
