One of the fun, new products in my first collection with Pink Paislee (Fancy Free!) is the heart string art template. String art is a big trend in the crafting community and I wanted to bring it into my scrapbook pages.

Here is the very first layout I made using the heart string art template. It comes with pink thread, but since I wanted to use pink paper in the background, I used my own white thread to stitch the background. The template also comes with jewel brads to be the “nails” for wrapping around, but I opted not to use them and save them for a different project.

I first saw the idea for adding bits and baubles onto the string by Flóra Farkas – genius! I have taught several classes here in Germany about how to use the heart string art template and every time we have incorporated this idea and strung buttons and sequins onto the thread as we were stitching along. It adds so much texture and pops of color, like pieces of candy!
