Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started crafting: As far back as I can remember I have loved paper and pens and stickers. And since about that time I have had a planner in my hand. Our tribe consists of 5 kids, a husband, and a couple of chickens. We live in Colorado where there is plenty of snow and always a trail to be hiked. There is always a story to be told and I find it’s part of my role as mom and wife to be the curator of those stories. I have had the sheer luck and privilege of being part of several design teams which has only added to my love of all things paper and photo and story telling.
Favorite thing to create: Not sure there is a favorite. The most important ongoing project to me is our family albums. These albums are dearly loved by not only me, but my kids relish the time to just sit and look at the photos again. I had no idea they would be so drawn to the photos+words. Thankful that they are.
What do you love about this hobby? I think this is a very upbeat creative outlet to be a part of. The fact that we can share our layouts and albums with others and they too get so excited about the creative aspect. The people I have met who are lovers of the paper are some of the most creative and insightful people I know. So perhaps its the people I love most about this hobby.

1. My first camera was a Kodak Instamatic.
2. I was taking selfies before selfies were cool.
3. I was raised in the Southern California sun and dream about going back.
4. Popcorn is my daily obsession. Stove top popped. With butter.
5. My first car was a huge bright orange Dodge utility truck. Fun times.

Reviewing the past year has been a big deal to me as I embarked on 2017. This layout highlights everything garnered from my Memory Planner. I wrote down accomplishments and events by each month, then typed them out on this page as a record of my year. I know this is going to be a favorite layout in years to come.
PORCH by Jamie Pate
This PORCH layout is from a few summers back. But it’s a favorite because of it’s simplicity as well as documentation of lazy summer Sunday afternoons on my porch. We work hard in our life, but we also need to relax well and take note of the simple.
INTENTIONAL PLANNER by Jamie Pate
One of my approaches to personal growth is using an Intentional Planner. This planner was home to thoughts and quotes I would read during a week. A place to add sketch notes and bullet points and to help keep my mind focused on new material and words I wanted to remember. It becomes a treasured journal when it looks so pretty.

It’s important to me to keep my one little word in focus. Last year my word was GROW. With a nod to the DIY and Home Decor I went to embellishing these Heidi Swapp Marquee Love Letters. My word then was part of my home decor and a daily reminder to the focus of my year.
XOXO CARD by Jamie Pate
Paper crafting has been a part of my life since I was in middle school. But card making really brought it all to life when I was a young mom looking for a creative outlet. This card is one of my favorites. It was fashioned in a non-traditional way as a pocket first. The front was embellished with an envelope and continues to be one of my favorite card sketches.
