Hello and Happy Friday! It has been a crazy week here in Markham, Ontario, Canada. We had enough snow to have the schools closed for a snow day, then we had freezing rain, enough rain to melt all the new snow plus more, crazy wind storms then thunderstorms complete with lightning. The temperatures have gone up and down along with the weird changing weather. I understand we are not the only ones having this weird weather this year. It does lead me to spend more time at my desk getting creative and on sites such as Pinterest getting inspired, so I am not complaining.
This week we have a wonderful giveaway from our friends at Queen & Co. If you have attended an EXPO or other show that they have been at, you will know their booth as it is always very colourful and rainbow-like. Personally, I feel like a kid in a candy store when I walk into their booth. My eyes run here and there taking it all in, and my creative side wants a little of everything!

Queen & Co you continue to out do yourselves. Every time I see a new gorgeous item, there’s plenty more right behind it. My daughter & I, are so in love with your products. This year I’m making Valentine’s Day cards for children who are sick in the hospital. I have about 10 Queen & Co shaker cards I’m making & of course using the words, hearts, etc that I can add glitter too. I know it’s going to be a huge hit! These cards are confectionary sweet! I have an “Inspiration- Station” in the school library to help teach students handcrafts that once were taught in Home Economics classes. Teens come in and create to help de-stress, especially during assessment time. With this new kit, students would make cards and use the heart die and create pencil toppers decorated with bling . They would give them away to make someone’s day…

I love the “thanks” cut out of vellum. And you are right about “a kid in the candy store!” Queen & CO always does such a great job with their displays – hard not to with such beautiful colors. I teach a class at our local craft store on various card-making techniques. I would totally use this kit to spread the wealth, so to speak, and get the craft store to carry Queen & Co. products because right now, they do not.

I love the shaker cards and spent many dollars on them at the Expo last summer in NJ and look forward to this coming summer to shop the Q&Co. booth. Saving money already. I have made quite a few cards and they were well received. My favorite one was for my great Nephew’s birthday. I used the card with the 4 rectangles and put his birth picture in one, his current picture in one, my favorite picture of his dad with in him in one and with his mother in one. I found all sorts of birthday confetti and he loved shaking it. This would be a great addition to my collection so i am keeping my fingers crossed that i will win.

All of the cards are really pretty. The colors are very Valentine-ish sweet like most candy you’d see in stores around this time of year. very nice.
