Saturdays With LeAnn

Plaid Watercolor

Welcome back, my dear crafty friends, to Weekly Scrapper!  Don’t you just love Saturdays?  It is one of my favorite days of the week, and especially because I get to share my passion of crafting with you. I just love spending the day in my craft room and do the things I love to do!  I hope you will be able to take some time for yourself today and have fun with your crafting.

Best Weekend By Missy Whidden

When creating a layout, the photo itself is the major guide to your process.  Any time you are using a black and white photo, you can incorporate a lot of color on the remainder of the layout to balance the lack of color in the photo.  Have you ever noticed that black and white emphasizes the faces in the photo?  Missy did such an outstanding job on this layout.  The colors she used really give the photo a pop and helps it really stand out.

Best Weekend

Missy added some fun arrows and arranged them for her background, adhered them, then went over them with gesso.  She added some shimmerz paints, washi tape, and embellished with some die cuts, tags, sequins.  To top it off she did some machine stitching through the center of her arrows.  This is such a fun and eye catching layout!  Let me escort you over to Little Nugget Creations where you will find a step-by-step video, along with many more outstanding projects created by Missy.  You will always leave her blog feeling very inspired.

Plaid Watercolor By Debby Hughes

Today’s card is all about the plaid background. Can you believe this gorgeous plaid was created with watercolors?  You can get an intense background with watercolor paints!  Not all watercoloring has to be soft and subtle.  The beauty of plaids is that they can be used for both a masculine or feminine look.  I just love this plaid card; it is so eye-catching and a very fun technique! Handmade cards instantly brighten up anyone’s day.

Cold winter days are a good reason to go into the kitchen and bake some nice warm cookies.  These turtle cookies have every indulgent flavor you could pack in a recipe.  Peanut butter, caramel, chocolate, all topped off with a pecan.  You’re ready to make a batch, aren’t you?

Turtle Peanut Butter Cookies

These are the simplest cookies you will ever make!  Peanut butter and caramel are a dynamic duo, and of course the chocolate enhances both peanut butter and caramel flavors!  The chocolate on top adds a nice surprise, and the pecan adds a little extra flavor and texture.  Now that you are craving this cookie, click here and I’ll take you over to Crazy For Crust, where you will find the recipe to get you started making your cookies now.  Enjoy!
