Saturdays With LeAnn

Thinking Of You

Welcome back to Weekly Scrapper on this beautiful Saturday!  It is so hard to believe we are already at the end of May. Time flies by so fast, and because of that… we really need to enjoy a little bit of time for ourselves.  I hope you will take some time and be inspired today to head right to your craft room, start creating, and enjoy the things you love to do!  I hope you have a fabulous Saturday!

Layout Three Ways By Shizuka Hirano

One layout can look many different ways by the use of color, embellishments, and textures. It is so fun to create a layout that expresses your personality.  When creating for others you may use a totally different technique.  The first layout today is clean and simple.  It doesn’t have a lot of texture added to it but is still so sweet and beautiful.

Layout Three Ways

Adding some texture and color to the same layout can really create a different look.  For the second layout Shizuka added some texture using BoBunny Fancy Flourishes stencil and New Pentart Stencil Paste.  Shizuka added some diluted acrylic paint slightly using a paint brush and this definitely gave some texture and color.

Layout Three Ways

If you are one that really likes texture then this third layout will be your favorite.  Shizuka stacked chipboard and cut flowers with added Pearlescents.  Glitter paste gave it a fun sparkle and gesso was applied to add a soft impression.

Depending on the type of layout you love, all these simple additions can be achieved.  We all know how much texture and dimension adds to a layout.  Shizuka’s layout is full of all kinds of beautiful elements – she has such a great way of giving layouts a nice contrast.  Let me take you on over to BoBunny’s blog where you can find all of the products you will need to start your own layout.  Take some time while you are at BoBunny’s blog to see many more beautiful creations.  You will certainly leave feeling very inspired!

Thinking Of You By Catherine Cowles

Whether you are scrapbooking, making cards, using mixed media, or any other paper craft, it is so fun to work with the Lattice Frameworks die from Tim Holtz.  It will add a fun vintage embellishment for your project.  You can create a very distinctive background using various artistic elements just by using the shape as a repeating pattern, or smaller die-cuts for accents. Combine both for unlimited mixed-media possibilities!  Catherine Cowles certainly created a masterpiece with this technique.

Thinking Of You

You know me, I always go crazy over a creative and different background!  You can always create a spectacular background by using ink sprays, mists, gesso, embossing paste, and stencils.  I hope you have been inspired to add a little extra to your projects.  Click here and I will take you over to Daydreams In Paper where you can follow along with Cathie as she shares exactly how she created this beautiful card.  Cathie always has so many wonderful projects and you will always be lifted up by her talent!

Favor Box By Audrey Pettit

What a great party favor gift; you can even add your favorite candy!   I can see using this die for baby and bridal showers.  I am always trying to find a cute way to wrap up jewelry and this is certainly the fun box for that.  This die makes the cutest little favor box ever!  You will love how easy they are to put together.  I just love the shape of these, and they are a great size for any number of small treats and gifts.

Favor Box

These favor boxes are so fun to dress up and easily to match any theme or event.  Add a personal tag as an accent to your box.  You will put smiles on so many faces!  Come with me on over to Audrey Pettit Designs where you will find all the materials you will need to create these adorable boxes.  You will have so much fun you won’t know when to stop!  Have fun creating, my friends!

Cannoli Cream Dip By Dorothy Kern

Five ingredient easy homemade cannoli dip takes only 15 minutes to make.  Cannoli filling, in my opinion, is like an Italian cheesecake.  If you think about it, cannoli dip is an easier way to eat the Italian dessert.  There is no chance of the filling falling out of the back end, or the shell crumbling when you take a bite.

Cannoli Cream Dip

This would be a perfect dip for a birthday party, a holiday party, and even a game night with friends. It is a fabulous no bake summer recipe.  The possibilities are endless!  A couple dips with a wafer cookie will easily satisfy any sweet craving!  Get your paper and pencil ready because this is a recipe you won’t want to miss!  Click here and I will take you over to Crazy For Crust where you will find the easy directions by Dorothy Kern.

I hope you enjoyed today’s projects and that you have been inspired to begin your weekend crafting.  Thank you for stopping by and I hope you have an amazing week ahead of you.  I will see you next Saturday and I’ll have some more fun things to share!
