Sundays With Lorraine

Hello, my crafty friends and welcome back to Weekly Scrapper. I am loving this beautiful weather, perfect for today’s creative therapy. I am packing up for our Denver show, then I am moving on to New York to spend some time with family and friends. I’m really hoping to see some of the gorgeous fall foliage. I love California but we really don’t have much of an autumn season. Let’s get started with our crafting inspiration, shall we?

My Elements by Riikka Kovasin

I was immediately drawn to this beautiful, artsy layout and knew I had to share the inspiration. It really is the whole package, a unique inky background that compliments the photo, perfectly placed layers, and even handwritten journaling. What more can you ask?

Thanks to our very creative friend Riikka you, too, can create your own version of this unique layout. Click here and I will be happy to escort you over to her blog Paperiliitin where she shares the original inspiration for this layout. You are going to love it!

Happy Halloween by Richele Christensen

Not to worry, there is still time for a few more Halloween cards. Have you seen some of the new Halloween releases from Tim Holtz/Sizzix? At the risk of sounding like an enabler, I think you need to take a look, they are adorable. The die set that Richele used is appropriately titled Witchcraft. Richele colored the background on mixed media heavyweight cardstock using Distress Oxide Inks (Seedless Preserves, Twisted Citron, and Black Soot) then die cut the stars out of the background. Don’t you just love how the witch and stars pop against the gorgeous background? I love those Distress Oxides!

Richele is truly a talented paper crafter and you will be happy to know that she offers workshops. Click here and I will escort you over to her blog California Art Girl so you can plan a crafty afternoon with your creative peeps. Have fun!

Pumpkin Patch Pillow Tucks with Tim Holtz & Sizzix

It’s time to celebrate the wonders of Fall so I thought you might be inspired by these sweet fabric pumpkin pillows. Just thinking out loud here but if we don’t permanently attach the Happy Halloween we can keep them out through Thanksgiving right… maybe tiny safety pins, a cute hat Pin, well you get the idea..  😉 .

Audrey die cut the pumpkins from orange denim using the new Pumpkin Patch die from Tim Holtz and Sizzix. I can think of all kinds of fun uses for these little cuties, how about adding a little pumpkin spice fragrance to the pillows and putting a few in the bathroom or in a guest room? “Happy fall ya’ll!”

The BEST Chicken Parmesan

If you are ready for another one of those yummy Italian comfort foods, then you are going to love Kelley’s Chicken Parmesan. There is something about the fall weather that makes it almost enjoyable to cook. You know I typically don’t enjoy spending lots of time in a hot kitchen, but when the cooler weather hits and we have a little help from Kelley, it’s almost fun. Big hugs to Kelley for showing us the way to delicious meals in no time.

Kelley is the queen of creating delicious, quick, and easy weeknight meals that your family will love. I highly recommend stopping by the Chef Savvy Blog anytime you need some fresh ideas to answer that dreaded question “MOM! What’s for dinner?” You’re going to love this easy 30 minute Chicken Parmesan Chicken, simply add a side of your favorite pasta, a nice loaf of crusty Italian bread, and dinner is served. It’s the perfect comfort food for those cool fall nights.

Thanks for stopping by; happy crafting and hugs to all!.
