Hi, all! It’s Pauline and I’m excited to be hosting Inspiration Station today! Thanks so much for stopping by to spend some creative time with me! I will be sharing a card I made with the Fall Break Collection from Carta Bella that is featured in the Latest & Greatest Scrapbooking class. Fall is my favorite season and lately, with temperatures still hovering near 100 here in Florida, I was drawn to this fall line and the hopes of cooler temperatures!
One of my favorite images in this line is the vintage red truck, and I wanted to create an interactive card with the truck in motion. I also wanted to have a hidden message revealed once the truck passed over that section of the card.
I started with a kraft card base that measured 5 1/2″ X 6 1/2″. The next step was creating a 1″ track to guide the truck across the page. I cut and adhered a 3″ x 6 1/2″ chipboard piece to the top of the card base and a 1″ x 6 1/2″ plaid piece to the bottom to create the track. I did not glue right to the edge of either piece as I knew I needed to tuck a slider piece underneath the edges. I placed a 2″ x 1″ chipboard piece inside the track, tucking the ends underneath the chipboard and plaid pieces.
I cut a 4 1/4″ x 5 3/4″ piece of autumn leaves paper, tucking the bottom under the plaid piece on the bottom and adhering to the chipboard slider piece. Next, I used a pop dot to place the chipboard truck on top of the autumn leaves piece.
I cut a 3 1/2′ x 6 1/2″ piece of the autumn plaid paper, securing it to the card base on the left and top of the card (I couldn’t secure the bottom or right side as that would block the slider).
I then embellished with the “Colors of Autumn” and scenic die cuts and cut one side from the black and autumn leaves die cut to create the pull tab and tied a red ribbon through the hole.
