Saturdays With LeAnn

It's The Little Things

Welcome back to the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo blog on this beautiful spring day.  Don’t you just love Saturdays?  This is such a special day for me because I get to share my passion for crafting with you.  I make it a priority to spend some time in my craft room over the weekend and do the things I love to do.  I hope you have fun with your crafting as well.  Don’t ever hold back; always try something new since you will never know what you are truly capable of unless you give new things a try.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead!

Once Upon A Lifetime By Elena Olinevich

Do you love the look of mixed media projects?  Have you ever had an artistic block?  I think we all have times when we sit down to work on a project and our minds are completely blank.  Sometimes it is just hard to know where to start our project.  Elena shows us today how to get started by using a beautiful collection from BoBunny.  This collection used by Elena is “Once Upon A Lifetime” and is primarily driven by a vintage and heritage theme.  This beautiful masterpiece is created in lighter tones which gives it a sweet, spring flair.  Elena sure has a way of making things less intimidating by getting you inspired to try new things.

Once Upon A Lifetime

I love the beautiful textured background that Elena created.  She used several different mediums, first applying gesso and modeling paste on her background.  My favorite part is adding the color by misting glimmer color sprays to give it that vintage look.  Who wouldn’t fall in love with this amazing project?  This is one of those beautiful pages that can also be turned into a framed piece of art that would add some great personality and charm to any room of your home.  I hope today’s project has inspired you to give mixed media a try.  If you already love mixed media then hopefully you will learn a new technique or two.  I do have to warn you, it becomes very addicting!  Enjoy your time creating!

No Bake Strawberry Jello Lasagna By Vera Zecevic

This No Bake Strawberry Jello Lasagna is an easy summer dessert recipe for a refreshing sweet treat.  This is a perfect idea for Memorial Day gatherings.  It is light, easy, delicious, and the best part is that no oven is required.  This is definitely one you will want to put on your list for summer parties.

No Bake Strawberry Jello Lasgana

Start with a layer of Golden Oreo crust on the bottom.  The next layer is cream cheese with diced fresh strawberries.  Then comes the best part, the light and fluffy pink layer of whipped cream, strawberry jello, and strawberry Greek yogurt.  The last layer is whipped cream topped off by adding the white chocolate curls.  How much better does this get?  You will serve one amazing dessert!  Let’s pop on over to Oh My Goodness Chocolate Desserts where Vera will give you all of the ingredients along with the recipe to make your own.  Vera also shows a wonderful video on how she put it all together.  This is really one you don’t want to miss out on.  Enjoy!

Thank you for being such great crafty friends and spending your precious time with me each week.  I look so forward to each Saturday.  I hope you have been inspired today to make some of these fun projects.  Have a wonderful and creative week ahead!
