Sundays With Lorraine

Happy fall, my crafty friends, and welcome back to Stamp & Scrapbook Expo’s blog.  It’s hard to believe that we only have two shows left of our 2018 show season, I hope to see you at one of them.  As always, it’s an honor to have the opportunity to share projects designed by some of the most talented people in our very creative industry.  Here are a few projects that recently inspired me to get my creative mind moving and I hope they inspire you as well.

Thankful Autumn Pumpkin Card

Fall is definitely in the air, I just left our Denver show and the temperatures were in the 50’s as we stepped onto the show floor at 7 AM.  When I left California it was 94 degrees so the cool, crisp air was a real treat.  Fall marks the beginning of holiday crafting so I thought you might be inspired by this adorable pumpkin card.  I must confess I love anything pumpkin from my lattes to my paper crafting!  🙂

The beautiful pumpkin paper from Tattered Angels and Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists really was the perfect combination for a fall-themed card.  Click here and I will escort you over to the Canvas Corp Brands Creative Studio so you can see how easily this sweet card comes together.  Who wouldn’t feel the love that was put into this handmade treasure?

Sunset Background by Maria Sabina

A beautiful inky background is one of my go-to techniques for many of my card fronts.  Add in a whimsical black glittered fairy and, as you can see, it is a definite hit!

I hope you’ve been inspired to break out your favorite inks, blending tools, and some plain white cardstock and give it a try.  Talk about a stunning card!  I’d like to send out a virtual hug to Maria Sabina for being such a constant inspiration to her fellow scrappers.  I barely finished this post and I was reaching for my distress oxides!

Glam Halloween Artist Trading Coins by Erin Reed

How stinkin’ cute are these Halloween trading cards?  Wouldn’t it be fun to share these with your creative peeps?!  I can definitely see them being used as an embellishment in your planners, travelers notebooks, and scrapbook layouts.  You know what I’m saying.  These cuties are a fun spin on Artist Trading cards but these are round.

Be sure to check out the video tutorial that Erin created showing how fun and easy these cards are to make.  I will admit they are kind of addicting and due to their small size you can crank out dozens in no time.  Have fun!

Firecracker Chicken Thighs From The Kitchn

This Firecracker Chicken is all about the amazing sauce, so bring on the napkins because you’re going to need them.  This is definitely one of those finger-licking good chicken recipes.  I am happy to report that with a little help from our friends over at the Kitchn Food Blog you can have this tasty meal on the table in no time.  I have a feeling your family will be requesting this dinner again and again.  Bon appetit, my hungry friend!

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s creative therapy!  Have an amazing week and I look forward to seeing you back next Sunday.

Hugs to all,

Lorraine
