Saturday With LeAnn

Hello all my friends, and welcome back to Stamp & Scrapbook Expo’s blog.  I hope each one of you is enjoying this beautiful time of the year.  I just love the beautiful rich colors along with the brisk, fall weather.  I hope you are all enjoying it as well.  It is the time for yummy pumpkin treats and warm tasty drinks.  So go grab your favorite drink and let me share some fun projects with you today!  I really hope you enjoy each one.  Take a moment to relax and get away from your busy schedule to enjoy some creative time for yourself.

Yay Layout By Stefanie Ried

Grab your favorite stencil, a little bit of acrylic paint, along with some modeling paste, and get your creative mind ready to make this beautiful layout.  What’s not to love about this fabulously warm mixed media look?  It is definitely simple mixed media at it’s finest.  You can begin to bring in some magical mixed media techniques to create your own unique layout!

Stefanie did not want to hide her beautiful background so she decorated it with a custom banner at the bottom.  Using fun embellishments such as floral diecuts, fussy cut images, and some Thickers, you can become very creative in how you design your banner.  Come with me over to the Paige Taylor Evans blog to see how easily this project comes together.  You will want to be sure to see her other projects for more additional ideas.  Enjoy!

Pinecone Background Autumn Card By Yana Smakula

Today you are going to learn how to create a beautiful autumn card featuring the emboss resist technique!  Start your card by using the Pinecone stamp for your background using clear detail embossing powder on white cardstock.  After the background is embossed you can add some color.  The powder will resist the ink and allow the white background to show through.  It is an old technique but can also become one of your favorites for quick and easy backgrounds.

Using the Ranger Round Ink Blending Tool and the Spellbinders foams will help blend the ink much better.  Add circles of color here and there on the panel, slowly filling it in with color.  You will love this pinecone stamp for fall.  After adding your colors to the background you will see a lot of beautiful fall colors.  If you are a visual person like myself, I highly recommend checking out the great video tutorial that Yana created which is filled with lots of useful tips.

Christmas Tags By Heather Campbell

It’s that time of year again to begin thinking about getting your tags made for the Christmas season.  Dive into your stash of supplies and use pieces of this and that to create some amazing tags; what a great way to use up your scraps.  Mix and match whatever makes you smile because there are no rules in creating!  I just love making tags because it gives me an opportunity to play around with some of my stamps, inks, and mediums.  Let’s get creative!

These adorable tags were created by Heather Campbell, and she also has a step-by-step video that will show you exactly how she created these adorable tags.  You won’t want to miss out on this one.  Have so much fun creating your own custom tags for your gifts!

Mini Crumb Apple Pies By Dorothy Kern

These mini crumb apple pies are the perfect fit for any holiday table!  A thick layer of finely textured crumb topping crowns a tall mound of apple filling all in a small bite!  Are you looking for a small, perfect dessert to serve for Thanksgiving?  These will be just what you are looking for!

Make an easy mini apple pie with a crumble topping instead of a full-size apple pie.  Easier to serve, easier to eat, and so fun to make.  You will serve one amazing dessert!  Let’s hop on over to Crazy For Crust where Dorothy will give you all of the ingredients along with the recipe so you can make these.  Dorothy shares many more fabulous recipes and you won’t want to miss out on any of them.  Enjoy every bite!

Thank you, my friends, for stopping by today.  I hope you have enjoyed all the inspiration of today’s creative projects.  I can’t wait to share more projects with you on our Stamp & Scrapbook Expo blog.  I highly recommend you take some time and visit the individual blogs of these very talented ladies.   You will find all the details on how these outstanding projects were created.  I hope you have an amazing week ahead of you and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Hugs to all,

LeAnn
