Hey, Wandering Planners! We have got some new and exciting news for you! Today I get to introduce you to our new team member, Jennie McGarvey. She has brought some fresh new ideas to our team and we are so happy to have her!
I asked her a few questions which I thought you would find interesting:
Tell us a little about yourself?
I am a SAHM [12 years] of three boys turned social media coordinator [five years] turned Wandering Planners coordinator [started March 2019]! I started scrapbooking 17 years ago with the birth of my eldest son and quickly grew into loving stamping and card making, as well. In 2014 I bought a Kate Spade spiral planner and have been using a paper planner ever since, although I kept a paper planner in college, as well. I love to add decoration once I have all of my functional plans. While I’m known for my planner stamping, I really love stickers, too. I’ve been on many scrapbooking design teams and published in several magazines over the years, as well as being a member of The Happy Planner® Squad for three years. In addition, I’ve been teaching paper crafting for many years and in 2017 I was able to teach two planner classes for Big Picture Classes. In 2018, I was able to turn that into teaching in-person classes, one of which was a trip to Chile! Thanks to my role at Wandering Planners I look forward to getting to know Planners all across the United States, too.
How did you get into planning?
I realized I had so many things to keep up with – rides, practices, games, etc. and I really needed a system to do that. I’m a creative so I realized that a paper planner would probably help me not only add a cute sticker here or there, but also allow me to keep track of my whole life in one place. My phone couldn’t do that the way that made sense to my brain!
What is your favorite type of planner?
I am a Happy Planner® girl through and through. I love the cute designs, the disc system, and the paper! The vertical page design mimics how my brain operates so I’m totally able to get to where I need to be and get my to-dos crossed off, too.
What do you love the most about planning?
I absolutely love the way:
- It keeps me on track and efficient. I accomplish so much more thanks to my Happy Planner®!
- I am able to be creative while being efficient and functional.
- I can document my family’s memories at the same time as getting to all of my appointments and activities.
- I have had the opportunity to meet other like-minded women on two continents thanks to this amazing hobby.
