This layout is such a perfect way to showcase a photo. Jillibean Soup created a fun placemat giving everyone the opportunity to enjoy using a cut-out background. No more having to pull your Silhouette or Cricket out. It is already done for you! Melinda Spinks designed this adorable layout of her sweet little boy playing with bubbles. Isn’t it amazing how much happiness little ones can bring into our lives?
Position the placemat onto your background cardstock and using a pencil lightly trace around all the cut-outs including the outer edge. You can use a couple of pieces of tape on each edge so it doesn’t shift while tracing the shapes.
You will need to cut off the outer edge of your cardstock making sure that you place your scissors on the inside of your pencil line. You don’t need to be fussy with your cutting as the edge will be hidden under your placemat.
It is time to start adding all your fun bits and pieces together and add your alphas as well.
Once you have everything in position, it is time to adhere your placemat onto your layout. You can use small pop up adhesive to give it a slight raise.
Melinda added a little fake stitching, along with lightly sprayed mist.
You can add a few embellishments on top to give it that 3-D look.
Be sure and get the journaling in one of your circles. Printing your journaling onto a sheet of vellum will allow the patterned paper underneath not to disappear.
This is just one of many ways you can use the Jillibean Placemats. Thank you Melinda for sharing this inspiration with us. Take a minute and jump over to The Scrap Farm for more of her outstanding designs.
