Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started crafting: I am a mother of two little boys who keep me on my toes. Bowen is nine and Wilder is seven. Photography is my first creative love. I started scrapbooking digitally in 2011 and branched out to paper scrapbooking via Project Life in 2013. I’ve been blessed to be on the Becky Higgins Project Life Creative Team as well as the Studio Calico Design Team.

Favorite thing to create: I love Project Life Layouts with Mini Books coming in a close second.

What do you love about scrapbooking/cardmaking? I love documenting the details of our lives. The small things that would likely be forgotten months or years later had they not been written down.

5 fun facts about yourself:
1. The beach is my happy place.
2. I’m an attorney by day.
3. I don’t eat vegetables (unless corn and potatoes count).
4. I’m a morning person.
5. I love to read and could easily live without a television.

Check out the awesome Project Life spread Amanda created for her feature:

LAKE WINNIE PROJECT LIFE SPREAD by Amanda Caves

We visit this small amusement park each year with my family. I grew up going there each summer and this is the seventh year in a row that we’ve been able to take the boys to ride the rides. It’s such a fun and laid back day. I used the colors of our clothing as inspiration for the journal cards and embellishments that I chose to use.

Here are a few more of Amanda’s favorite creations:

Disney

Disney World: The Great American Vacation! We had a blast there and I put together an entire Project Life style album using photos and ephemera from our trip.

BEST OF 2013 MINI ALBUM by Amanda Caves

I’ve never been a “traditional” scrapper, but I do branch out now and then and pull together a mini book. This one was from 2013 and I chose to use all black and white pictures to document the highlights of the year.

FALL PROJECT LIFE SPREAD by Amanda Caves

One of the main reasons that I love the kits from Studio Calico is that their paper patterns are always phenomenal. This month was no different, so I chose to keep my Project Life layout simple and let the patterns speak for themselves.

Thanks for letting me shine the light on you Amanda!
