Hey, everyone! Roree here with another Make It! Monday project. Today I am sharing a tag I created with Ken Oliver Crafts Color Burst Watercolor Powders.
I started with a leaf cut from watercolor paper (using my Cricut Explore® and Sesame Street® Seasons cartridge), a water mister, and three colors of Color Burst Watercolor Powder: Alizarin Crimson, Lemon Yellow, and Orange.
I tapped a tiny bit of the Alizarin Crimson Color Burst and a tiny bit of the Orange Color Burst around the leaf die cut.
I misted the die cut with water and out came the beautiful colors!
I picked up the die cut and tilted it back and forth to cover the leaf with color.
After allowing it to dry just a bit, I started layering the die cut with more color. I added a tiny bit of Lemon Yellow Color Burst next and misted it with water.
After letting it dry just a little bit longer, I added just a bit more Alizarin Red and Orange Color Burst and misted it with water.
I then let the leaf die cut dry completely.
Once the leaf was dry, I inked the edges of the leaf with a Chestnut Roan Color Box Fluid Chalk Inkpad.
I added machine stitching for the veins of the leaf.
I trimmed the stem from the die cut and adhered it to another leaf cut from brown cardstock.
I then set an eyelet near the base of the leaf cut.
I finished the tag by adding a couple of tag die cuts, an acorn sticker, an epoxy heart sticker, and a brown stitched-ribbon bow.
I just love the deep and gorgeous color I was able to achieve on the leaf with the Color Burst Watercolor Powder.
I hope you enjoyed today’s Make It! Monday project. Thanks so much for stopping by! And for more Color Burst inspiration, make sure to visit Ken’s blog at kensworldinprogress.
