Technique Spotlight with Paige Evans: Flowers

Paige-technique-header

It’s springtime here in Germany which means the flower boxes in window sills are making their long-awaited-after-the-long-winter appearance! I love flowers in all their colors, shapes, and varieties and that love spreads into scrapbooking. The more flowers I can fit on a layout, the better! Here are eight examples of some of my pages (and a card!) that include a lot of flowers:

You are My Everything by Paige Evans

One of the papers in my new scrapbooking collection with Pink Paislee called Fancy Free is full of flowers that are just begging to be fussy cut! Which is exactly what I did here and then layered some chipboard flowers on top.

On this layout I die cut a floral background and then spent some time backing each petal with a different patterned paper. The result is a colorful and eye-catching background!

Baby Jane

BABY JANE by Paige Evans

After having a son and scrapbooking only “boy” pages for a couple years, I was so excited to bring on the pink and flowers for my baby girl. (Although she’s no longer a baby, she’s almost four, which I find so hard to believe! Where has the time gone?!)

Cards March Designer Highlight - Thank You

THANK YOU CARD by Paige Evans

Layer flowers created with punches and pre-made embellishments on top of a card base to send someone a special thank you!

Messy Buns by Paige Evans

On this page I used a heart punch and then folded the hearts in half to create petals for my flowers.

More fussy-cutting paired with die cut hearts of all kinds, and flower embellishments in opposite corners, create lovely mats for a photo duo.

So Sweet Sweet

SO SWEET by Paige Evans

A heart confetti punch makes creating lots of flowers a snap; then layer them on a neutral background to create the perfect focal point for a darling photo.

I hope you’ve been inspired to create layouts with lots of flowers – there are so many ways to create them and use them! Now all I want to do is sit down and scrapbook with florals. 🙂
