Designer Spotlight with Paige Evans: Flóra Mónika Farkas

This next lovely lady in the spotlight is someone I have had the chance to meet a couple times here in Europe – once in Frankfurt and the other time at a class I taught in Italy! She is a sweetheart and oh, so very talented. Please welcome Flóra Mónika Farkas!

Tell us a little bit about yourself and how you got started crafting: I am 20-something Hungarian girl living with my Sloven fiance in Slovenia. I love my family in Hungary. All seafood, Croatian seaside, sun, sun, and more sun. In 2012 I saw some videos by Kristina Werner making cards. I was totally amazed by the techniques, stamping, and Sizzix. I had never heard of this die cut machine. The next day I went to buy one clear stamp and one red Versa Magic ink. When I made the first stamp I was freaking out. It was awesome! It’s so funny. I was given a Sizzix for Christmas from my boyfriend and was thrilled. In the beginning I made cards, in 2014 I started to make mini albums, and in 2015 I began making layouts. I really enjoy this creative world. I am very happy to be on six Design Teams to show my projects to the world.

Favorite thing to create: Nowadays my favorites are 12 x 12″ layouts. In the past I loved to do mini albums but they so take more time and preparation. I like how layouts give instant success and every time you can try something new, such as color palettes, techniques, styles, layouts, and ideas.

What do you love about this hobby? I love to document my personal life and our life together. I think this will be a huge treasure in the future for my family. I can’t imagine how exciting it will be to show my albums to my kids… I am just wondering how amazing it would be to see my own Mom’s Project Life albums. Breathtaking to think about it. Anyway, I passionately love all the beautiful products I can get in my hands, they cheer me up every day. And I also love the amazing scrapbooking community. The borders are open, you can have friendships from all over the world. Isn’t that amazing?

5 fun facts about yourself:
1. I love to use pink and every shade of pink on my scrapbooking projects, but in everyday life I don’t use a lot. (I mean I don’t have lots of pink clothes and accessories.)
2. I am afraid of dogs but I have a westie called Füli in Hungary.
3. I don’t have kids yet. On my projects you can see my niece and nephew.
4. I have an amazingly good visual memory.
5. Every year we go with my fiance to visit an Advent Market in Europe.

To be honest I didn’t like my name when I was a child but I’ve made peace with it. So this layout is about my name – in the journaling I wrote its meaning. (This was inspired by quilling artist, Miyyah.)

I dreamed a spring meadow layout with my beautiful niece. The dreamcatcher is made from cut files and around it I wrote a lullaby.

In Slovenia there are a lots of hills and people are very sporty, so I am motivated to exercise and spend more and more time in the beautiful nature.
