Hello my crafty friends, and welcome back to Weekly Scrapper! I still can’t believe that another year has come and gone. I must say that I am very excited about having the opportunity to inspire you through both Weekly Scrapper as well as in the Creativity Center at Stamp & Scrapbook Expo. The beginning of the new year for me means all new and exciting projects for the Creativity Center and I am happy to report that I will be sharing some “holy cow!” projects this season. Click here and I will take you over to our site so you can make plans to come join us for a fabulously creative weekend.
Adding Layers To Your Pocket Pages with Jess Forster
Who says pocket pages have to be void of texture and layers? Scrapbookers tend to be what I call “collectors of fine things.” There is definitely something to be said for walking onto the Stamp & Scrapbook Expo show floor and enjoying each and every booth in search of new embellishments for your scrapbooking. I have been with Scrapbook Expo over 16 years and I still shop that floor like I’ve never seen it before! 😉 By creating a flip pocket on your pocket pages you now have the opportunity to add some of those new embellishments that you bought at the show. YAY!
If you’re a pocket page person then you don’t want to miss out on Jess’s tips and techniques, they are sure to help bring your pocket pages to the next level. Click here and I will be happy to take you over for a visit. You’re going to love how Jess gives her pocket pages the added texture and layers that they deserve.
Just for You with Silk Microfine Glitter and Distress Oxide Background
I discovered this gorgeous card on the Elizabeth Craft blog and knew I had to share the inspiration with you. We all need a little sparkle in our lives! The gorgeous blending of distress oxides along with the sparkle of glitter is a magical combination.
At the risk of being labeled an enabler, I highly recommend stopping by the Elizabeth Craft site so you can check out all the amazing colors of microfine glitter that they have to offer – there are over three pages to drool over, so bring a tissue (lol). While you are visiting their blog be sure to subscribe because you don’t want to miss out on any of Els’s Technique Fridays. There is a good reason that they have over 20K subscribers! 😉
Birthday By Birka
I often hear from many card makers that they tend to struggle with masculine-themed cards so I hope you enjoy this fun card designed by Birka. (You might need to hit the translate button once you arrive on her blog.) Birka shows us just how easily this artsy card comes together.
Its been awhile since I broke out my alcohol inks, how about you? I love the pop of color that the alcohol ink brings to this card. Wouldn’t it be a perfect card for someone that just got their first car; just include some gas money and you’re good to go. If it’s a girl, change the color if you want, what’s not to love?
Skinny General Tso Chicken By Carlsbad Cravings
Many of you know that my favorite food of all time would be Asian food. It pains me to say that I am not as creative in the kitchen as I am in “my happy place” (my craft room). Needless to say, I am extremely thankful for amazing food blogs like Carlsbad Cravings. I highly recommend stopping by Carlsbad Cravings for a visit – you will instantly be inspired both emotionally as well as motivated to eat a bit healthier. Hugs to Jen for bringing these amazing recipes into our homes.
Jen proves that eating healthier doesn’t have to be painful; she is truly a culinary genius and is beyond generous to share her talent with us. I hope you stop by her blog and enjoy some serious inspiration.
Thanks for the visit and I hope you have an amazing week ahead of you. I’ll see you again Tuesday with some sneak peeks of what we will be creating together at the Creativity Center this year.
The dragonfly card is absolutely beautiful! I’m also a huge fan of Elizabeth Craft!
Beautiful background on card. Making more cards with my own backgrounds, but still love my patterned papers!
Love the colors in the dragonfly and car cards!
So creative-inspiring!
