Digital Scrapbook Layout by Marla Thrall

Digital scrapbooking is a form of scrapbooking that is done using a personal computer, digital or scanned photos, and computer graphics software. For many of us seasoned scrappers digital scrapbooking was a little hard to swallow at first. My only concern was what would happen to all the treasured supplies that I have been collecting for the last 15 years!? Not to worry, there is room for both; I call it going hybrid. It is totally fine to have some traditional scrapbook layouts mixed in with your digital layouts. Remember there are no rules, just have fun with your art!

Digital scrapbooking can be a beautiful thing as you can see by this adorable layout designed by the very talented Marla Thrall. Whether you are a seasoned professional with computer graphic skills or are just getting your feet wet, I highly recommend spending some quality time with Maria as she shares how quick and easy it is to create the perfect digital scrapbook layout.

Hello Friend By Lynn Put

One of my favorite types of cards to make are friendship cards. Growing up in New York and then moving to California as an adult, I appreciate the importance of keeping in touch across the miles. What better way to let those special friends in your life know how important they are to you than to send a handmade card, right?

I hope you’ve been inspired to break out your favorite watercolors and create something beautiful. On this sweet card, Lynn used Distress Inks to create the gorgeous backgrounds, but feel free to use what you have on hand. For a complete supply list click here and I’ll escort you over to The Queens Scene Blog so you can check out how easily this heartfelt card came together. Keep up the great job you’re doing by sharing those smiles one handmade card at a time.

Butterfly Gift Card Box By Marjie Kemper

With gift cards being available everywhere, they have quickly become one of my go-to gifts, but I sometimes harbor a bit of guilt – that it wasn’t personal enough. A handcrafted gift card holder like this one adds that personal touch back into the gift so in my world that erases the guilt. 😉 Who wouldn’t love to see their favorite store gift card peeking out of this adorable gift card box handcrafted by you. Maybe it’s me, but I don’t have any problem walking into my favorite store and picking out exactly what I want with my gift card, do you?

Marjie paired Eileen’s Hulls Recipe Box die with Tim Holtz’s Detailed Butterflies die to create this custom gift card holder.  These are wonderful to have on hand whenever you need a gift card holder, they also make great party favors, a place to house your business cards etc. Click here and I will be honored to take you over to Eileen’s blog so you can follow along as Marjie shares how this darling project was created.

Kit Club With a Kick from Avocado Arts

aa_logo-newEver thought about joining a monthly kit club but don’t know where to start? Well if you enjoy stamping then you’ll definitely need to check out Avocado Arts!

Not only do they manufacturer high quality clear and photopolymer stamps right here in the USA but they also offer a monthly stamp kit club with so many added value bonuses that you really can’t go wrong.

I had the pleasure of recently interviewing Michelle Ogdahl, Owner of Avocado Arts. She explained what makes Avocado Arts so unique: The ability to coordinate their Michelle_Pic2_copy_edited-1monthly stamp sets with each other and provide additional complimentary products to their customers each and every month.

I was very impressed by the fact that each set they release builds upon and coordinates with their previous sets. This allows their customers to stretch that stamping dollar even further. Something that is very important in today’s economy.

Avocado Arts newest April Release, Perfectly Planted, is no different.

You can choose the size you’d like to fit your next project. Plus have the additional luxury of being able to use the digital file over and over again. Now that is added value!

PAINTABLES:

Another great new coordinating product from Avocado Arts is their new Paintables line. Now this definitely peaked my interest.

With this great add-on you have even more flexibility! You can customize your paper to whatever color scheme you’d like while still coordinating perfectly with the stamp kit of the month.

Little Sweet Tweeter

Today, I want to share with you a wonderful inspiration from Simonne Clay.  Be sure to visit her blog SemSee’s Sparkly Scribbling for more of her wonderful creations.  A big Thank You Simonne for sharing this with us.

Little Sweet Tweater

The bird cage is used as the focal point of this card, coordinating the background paper, chipboard die, and the stamp from Whimsy Stamps all together.  What a great complement of each other. The leaves were die-cut from my Whimsy Stamps Vines Die Set.

I really love how versatile this set is! I love the colors, and to top it off the arrangement of flowers just complete the elegance to this card.  Hope you enjoy this sweet card as much as I did, and it will be a great inspiration for you.

Scrapbooking Layers of Gratitude

Anytime is a good time to create a layout about gratitude, don’t you think?

This is a digital layout, and I love all the layers and details.  Plus, with digital scrapping, it’s so easy to journal more than a few words.

I like a “story” with a page.  I’m afraid when I’m old, I won’t remember the story 🙂

Digital Scrapping Pinspiration – New Blessings

Look at this gorgeous layout that I found on Pinterest.  This wonderful job is done by using Digital Scrapbooking.

I just love to explore different options for scrapbooking on Pinterest.  For some crazy reason my eyes always get glued to the beautiful layouts of digital scrapbooking even though I am not a digital scrapbooker.

Digital scrapbooking really intimidates me.  I decided to give it a try since this has drawn an interest to me.  I  joined a fun digital website called Gotta Pixel.  They have such great digital kits, paper, and fun ideas.   I found out that this wasn’t extremely hard, and actually really fun!  One thing that I really enjoyed as I was trying out the digital scrapbooking, is knowing that all of my scrapbooking products can still be used.

Have you ever heard of Hybrid Scrapping?   This is a combination of Traditional Paper Scrapbooking and Digital Scrapbooking.   What is so awesome about this is you have the best of  both worlds.  Creating a digital page then adding your embellishments really makes scrapbooking a fun hobby.

I, myself will probably continue to do Traditional Scrapbooking since I literally have a store of my own in my home that I have collected over the last 15 years of scrapbooking.

Go ahead try this if you haven’t already!  See if this is something you will love!!
