Christmas Mini Album

What’s not to love about mini albums, Mini Albums are a versatile way to capture those special moments in your life.  I can’t think of a more meaningful  gift to give or receive around the holidays than the gift of memories.  These days we all have a camera attached to us via our phone, we are constantly taking pictures of all that is meaningful to us and those we love.  So now that we have captured these special moments all we need to do is add a little journaling to our amazing mini album and we have a treasure that anyone would love to receive.

I would to thank Lynn for the inspiration for this article. To see more of her beautiful work please visit her site From My Bungalow, you’ll be very happy that you did.

Lynn used the Cricut Artiste Cartridge from Close To My Heart.  She also used Echo Park papers, stickers and brads from the”Seasons Greetings” line 2011.

Not to worry if you don’t have this line or this shape album.  You can use any album and any paper line.  So break into your treasured paper stash.  What I love to use is 6X6 paper pads, this way everything is already coordinated from the same paper line.  A little design tip I’d  like to point out on Lynn’s mini album is the way she carries a piece of the same patterned paper onto  the opposite page.  As you flip through the album it naturally carries your eye to the next page.

Once you have covered all of your pages its time to break out the embellishments, fibers, and of course my personal favorite some distress ink and give the album YOUR personal touch. You can use fibers, twine or ribbon to bind your album together. Another favorite of mine is using 1″ metal rings to hold the album together.  Then you can tie different ribbons and fibers to the rings.  I purchase my rings at staples, for $3.50 you get 16, you can’t go wrong there…

I hope Lynn’s Album has inspired you as much as it did me.  I can’t wait to make several of these for the holidays.
