Halloween Tag

What I love about today’s inspiration piece is that it incorporates many different kinds of techniques that can be used on just about any type of project whether it’s tags, cards, scrapbook pages, or home decor. I discovered this festive Halloween tag on Anettes Scrapblog. I highly recommend stopping by for a visit … you are sure to pick up some great tips, techniques & tons of inspiration.

Halloween Tag

Start out by stamping text on a piece of card stock. The original tag used tissue paper to get the wrinkles/texture, but if you do not have tissue paper , you can use napkins & glue instead.  Apply a generous layer of adhesive to the tag using a collage glue stick being sure to cover the entire area. Place tissue wrap on the adhesive covered tag and immediately begin to gather and wrinkle paper on tag. Press down on tissue wrap until desired look is achieved. Punch a hole at the top of the tag.  Allow to dry thoroughly.  In a hurry? You can speed up the drying time by using your heat gun.

Add some distress ink to create a nice background, let dry.

Emboss the spiderweb using Tim Holts folder by Sizzix then go over it with enamel accents, glitter embossing powder and stickles.

Additional effects you get by using glimmer mist and a piece of paper tape. What a difference it makes.

awesome tag! wish I could get sound. Today for some reason I can’t get sound on any of the Tip of the Day videos. I never had that problem here before. I am using Google Chrome. Anyone else having issues?
