A Trip Of A Lifetime

Stencils are really a big trend right now and so much fun to work with.  Are you one that loves working with stencils? Are you one that would love to learn how to use stencils?  Today’s inspiration will for sure give you some great techniques on using stencils and creating a beautiful masterpiece layout.  This sensational  layout was created by Melody Rupple  A fabulous design team member of My Favorite Things.

A Trip Of A Lifeftime

To start the layout Melody choose colors and paper that enhanced her photo.

A Trip Of A Lifeftime

She made a few pencil marks where she was going to lay her photos.  Then she taped down the Mini Chicken Wire stencil and used a sponge dauber and Natural Ink and dabbed her stencil pattern around the page.

Next she took a Brick Stencil and Liquitex Light Modeling Paste to add brick pattern and a nice texture to the page.  Use a palette knife to spread the paste on the paper.  If you have an old charge card around this will help spread the paste evenly and help keep the layer of paste thin.

Once the paste is dried use Kraft, Chocolate Brown, and Black Ink to add color to the brick.

Now it is time to add embellishments.  The sentiment at the top is from the Document It – Expand Your View stamp set.  Cut this out with the Rectangle Pierced Stax Die-namics.  Add some burlap behind the photo to create a little more texture to the layout.

The journaling card was created with the Journal It – For the Record stamp set, and the Insert It – 3 x 4 Dienamics.  The globe is cut with a die in the Accent It – World Traveler Die-namics.

The suitcase was also cut with the Accent It – World Traveler Die-namics and the clock is created with the Timeless stamp set and the coordinating Time Piece Die-namics.  The word “Adventure” is also from the Document It – Expand Your View stamp set.  The metal clock and enamel dots are from Meoldy’s stash.  This is such an outstanding layout.  Be sure to pop on over to A Paper Melody for more of Meody’s wonderful inspirations.  You will be so glad you did.
