Being Happy

Have you been bitten by the Mixed Media Bug? I know I have. It’s such a creative release. There really aren’t any rules. Just experiment & have fun with it. I’d like to thank Lisa Somerville, author of the Splendiferous Creations Blog, for sharing today’s inspiration piece.

Be Happy

To create this adorable Mixed Media Tag, Lisa covered her large tag with scraps from the Printery Collection by Prima. To add color and texture the to tag, she added some Gesso over the Tiny Dangle Stencil from Just a Trace, Rub- Ons from the She Art Collection, and she used a Distress Paint cap dipped into Frayed Burlap Ink to add circles to the tag.

Then Lisa added a pattern paper layer using the cover sheet from the She Art Collection, sponged the ends with Gathered Twigs Ink, and added bits of Gesso using the Tiny Dangle stencil and rub ons to match the tag panel.

She stamped the Julie Nutting Doll image from Prima onto Prima Printery pattern paper and again onto some She Art (Christy Tomlinson) pattern paper, sponged all edges with Ranger Gathered Twigs Distress Ink, then paper pieced the dress onto the doll.  Don’t you love how this brought the stamped image to life?

The sentiment from Dylusions The Right Words stamp set is stamped on scraps of pattern paper, sponged with Gathered Twigs Ink, and adhered in place with Multi Medium.  To finish the tag, Lisa layered it on an Espresso panel. Sheer perfection.

My hope for you is to be fearless when it comes to your creativity, to try new things but most important to have fun.

Thanks for visiting & have a very creative day!
