This one goes out to all you very talented stampers.. You are going to go nuts over these rolling stamps by Plus. This clever card is a perfect solution when you want to show your love with something personalized, but find yourself a little short on time. It couldn’t be easier & it takes your PLUS Decoration Rollers to a whole new level!
You can follow these step by step instructions here, or print out the project by clicking here.
Step 1: For this step you will need two pieces of white, 8.5” x 11“ cardstock and your PLUS Film Strip Decoration Roller. On the first piece of cardstock, roll the film strip pattern along the short side of the paper, about 1“ from the edge. This will become your card. The other piece of cardstock will act as your “window”, so placement of the film strip pattern is not important.
Step 2: To create your “window”, use a matte knife to cut out one rectangle in the film strip pattern.
Step 3: Line up the “window” and one of the rectangles in the film strip pattern that will become the card.
Step 4: Hold or tape the 2 papers in place, and roll the Cupcake Decoration Roller across the “window”. A small portion of the cupcake pattern will be applied to the card below. Simply move the “window” down the film strip pattern, and continue to roll out the cupcake pattern until all of the rectangles in the card revel some portion of the stamp.
Step 5: Trim the height and width of the card. Six or seven film strip frames would be perfect a perfect height. For a clean finish, trim above or below the thick black lines that separate the frames. When trimming the width of the card, first trim directly along the right side of the film strip pattern. Fold and trim the card to the desired width, making sure the back of the card is longer than the front. This will allow a pop of color to show through from inside the card.
Step 6: Trim a piece of colored or patterned paper to the same dimensions of the back of the card. Keep in mind, that whatever color or pattern you use, will still be seen when the card is closed. Using your favorite glue, adhere the colored paper to the inside of the card. We used PLUS TG-610BC Glue Tape.
Step 7: Use your best stamp, stickers or handwriting to create the greeting on the front of the card. In this case, we used a Happy Birthday stamp.
Step 8: Decorate! For this card, we used colored pencils to fill in the cupcakes. We used a variety of colors and shading to add dimension, and finished off the look by using a clear glitter glue. You can use markers, chalk or ink. Glitter, jewels, ribbon or buttons would also be a nice touch. Have fun with it and I know you will love the result!
