Don’t you love it when you can turn your scrapbooking supplies into a unique home decor piece? Today’s adorable project designed by Mona Pendleton is a perfect example. I highly recommend stopping by her blog Cupcake Creations for a visit anytime you need a burst of inspiration.
Mona used pretty patterned papers from the Pion design’s Alma’s Sewing Room Collection to create the base & background. She die cut & layered three different patterned papers using various Spellbinders dies & stitched around the oval shaped piece. Once the die cut pieces were adhered & stitched together, Mona broke out the modeling paste, a stencil & added some stamping.
The sweet girl image was stamped twice, once on a piece of purple wallflower ~ back patterned paper for her body then on a piece of purple wallflower ~ front for her dress & trimmed around the stamped images, colored her skin, hair, shoes and headband using Copic markers, gave her some chalk rosy cheeks and trimmed with pearls. I love how the peals around her neckline & on the headband add such a sweet feminine touch.
Thanks for the visit & I hope you have a very creative day.
My hope for you is to be fearless when it comes to your creativity, to be brave enough to try new things & most important to have fun with your art.
