You Make Me Smile

Don’t you just love the rich tones of this beautiful card?  Handmade cards are such a wonderful way of bringing sunshine to a friend or loved one especially on these cold winter days.  Jen Shults created this sweet card.  Thank You Jen for your great inspiration.  Be sure to visit Jen’s blog Deconstructing Jen; you will see so many more of her creative projects.

You Make Me Smile

Jen used Simple Stories Color Vibe paper and distressed the edges with Vintage Photo Ink.  She then lightly went around the edges with a Prima Distress Tool to roughen up the edges.

Friendship Warms The Heart

What a sweet sentiment from Verve stamps.  This stamp is called Smile Plain Jane.  Using kraft paper Jen stamped the sentiment and distressed the kraft paper.  Once again using the kraft paper she punched out a heart border using the Scalloped Trim Trio Dies.

Now the fun begins.  Start layering using the chevron paper from the Simple Stories Vibe 6 x 6 pad paper.  Jen then placed her heart border, adding her heart from the Trim Trio Die set.  She made a medallion to go behind everything using kraft paper and an EK Success edge punch.  To finish it she added a twine thread bow and a Prima flower.

Creativity involves in breaking out of your traditional style.  Take a look at your project in a different way, and never hesitate to try something new.

Enjoy your day.  Thank you for stopping by.

Brown is my favorite color, I just love the richness it gives to any project so when I saw your card I had to tell you how much I love it. Thanks and just like the saying, it made me smile.
