Argyle Heart Layout

Hey, everyone! Happy Monday! Even though Valentine’s Day is over, I am still really loving the hearts. That is why I made them the focus of my project this week. I decided to create a background for a layout using multiple hearts, all connected with stitched lines, to create a beautiful argyle heart pattern.

To create this background, I started out with a 8 1/2 x 11″ patterned paper base and 50 die cut heart (30 red and 20 pink).

I adhered the hearts in rows, alternating the colors and inverting every other row.

For this type of project, I love to use a grid or lined patterned paper to make the placement of the cuts that much easier.

After all of the die cuts were in place, I ran stitched lines at a diagonal in both direction to create an X over each heart and a diamond/argyle pattern over the patterned paper base.

This was my the end result.

After that, all that was left was to embellish my page with some patterned paper panels and a sweet photo, some letter stickers, a die cut heart, and a button for the title, and a little baker’s twine to tie it all together.
