Freebie Friday – Scrapbook & Cards Today Magazine

Scrapbook & Cards Today - Creative Cards Vol. 1

Freebie Friday with Jen Walker

If you have attended a Scrapbook Expo event in 2015 and were one of the first 100 people in line each morning, then you will have received a copy of Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine. Isn’t it lovely?! I especially love the feel of this magazine in my hands. Personally, while there are so many opportunities to interact with books and magazines in a digital format, I am still one of those people who prefers the feel of the paper in my hands. I have piles of books and magazines all over my house. I love to flip through this magazine and I enjoy how nice and thick the paper is.

Scrapbook & Cards Today releases four issues a year to coincide with the change of seasons. Today, the fall 2015 issue was released. The magazine is available in local scrapbook stores or via subscription. It is also available for free viewing online or for free download. You can download the PDF for the entire magazine, you can download the magazine in four parts so that the file sizes are smaller, or you can download the PDF for a specific article. Whichever way you want the information, it is available for you. All back issues are also available for viewing online.

With each issue, they also provide free sketches, cut files, and printable files. I especially like the fall cut files that Cathy Zielske created. These images are great for using on layouts or smaller cards for pocket pages. What fun!

Just in time for the Fall, it is my favorite season, plenty of opportunities to make cards. I’m excited about the inspiration these offer.

  3. barb macaskill says:

I am a subscriber to the magazine but my subscription ran out and I haven’t been able to renew it so I am going to miss this issue!! Would love to win it! Thanks for the chance to!!

  4. Deena Canup says:

I was not lucky enough to receive a free copy of the magazine at the Duluth Expo. I took all early morning classes and was not in line. It breaks my heart that so many of the crafting mags I love have gone completely digital. There is nothing like feeling the pages in my hand and being able to refer to it whenever and wherever I want. Don’t get me wrong, there are so many advantages to digital, but I like my books and magazines to be real. Perhaps one day I’ll be able to hold this beautiful treasure. Thanks for the opportunity to win these marvelous issues!

I would love to win this. I’m a card maker and I’m always looking for inspriration.
I customize the scrapbook pages to work on my greeting cards.
Both books will be a blessing.
    thanks.

  6. Cindy says:

  7. Sandy says:

I’d love a chance to win the magazine and special volume. I’m like you and prefer the feel of the actual magazine in hand. It’s just so much easier to see and manipulate in your hand. I’ve been going to the Schaumburg, IL Scrapbooking Expo for the last 8 years and it just keeps getting better!

  8. rosemarie c says:

I love the feel of books and magazines. Will have to see if my local store might have either of these. Thanks for sharing!

  9. LCJinRoslynPA says:

I, too, love the feel of a REAL magazine in my hands. Would LOVE to hold these two – they are bound to be real page-turners!

  10. Kitty says:

I really like a magazine that I can look at when I am relaxing at home. I like new ideas for card making and I prefer a real magazine I can hold in my hand rather than digital.

  11. Gail Mako says:

I have purchased these two magazines and am so happy to have them! I love to see all the new ideas and as it’s been said before I like holding it in my hands and going back to look at it as often as I like! Great new magazines. I wish you much success!

  12. Connie S says:

There’s nothing like holding a papercrafting magazine in your hands. It amazes me that there are so few on the market. Would love to ‘caress’ these two beauties! ;o)

  13. Kristin says:

How kind to be able to download the magazine. I also do still love to hold real magazines and books in my hands so I hope I can win these high quality products to further my creativity!

  14. Barbara says:

I would love to win a copy of these magazines. I have been looking for a scrapbooking magazine in every store I go in and every one has quit selling them. I really need the inspiration I get from magazines and refer back to them often. I was delighted to find out about Scrapbook and Cards Today magazine and would love to win one.

  15. Sharyn C says:

I attended the Expo this year but wasn’t lucky enough to be among the first 100 . I’m glad to know that the magazine is available online, but there is nothing like holding it in your hands, leafing through the pages or reading it in bed. Hope I’m the lucky winner.

  16. Carol says:

I miss holding a scrapbook magazine in my hands. I realize that digital is the now, but scrabokkjnv and card making is a tactile experience! The feel of the scissors in your hand, the texture of the paper, the silkiness of the ribbon….it’s all in the touch. So I need to hold that magazine too!

  17. Trish says:

These look amazing! I scrapbook and make cards and I love looking through magazines for ideas and learning new techniques. Being creative has brought so much joy to my life!

  18. Mary Bee says:

Thanks so much for the opportunity to win these awesome magazines. I, too, have lots of “older” print magazines and love the idea of having the pages on paper. I prefer to have the print to peruse while I am relaxing or watching TV, waiting in an office or the airport, etc. With so many of us that prefer the print, you would think the companies would “wake up” to the fact that print is not so bad. Maybe do both? I think there are many of us who do not have “smart?” phones. I would really love to win these. Thanks.

  19. Tracey t. Rice says:

Just came from the Marlborough show and I received a copy in line. I was sooooo excited about it as I was eyeing it in an advertisement in our info. I love that’s it’s modern but doable. Love the feel of the paper. Would love to win this

  20. Pat Robertson says:

Sounds like a good deal to me. Anxious to win this great prize. Just what I’ve been looking for. Thanks.

  21. Karen Frost says:

I would love to win these two magazines! I really appreciate the opportunity to have actual “hard” magazines in my hands! Online magazines are nice, but they are hard to read during those “choppy” minutes while waiting for kids to get out of school!!!

  22. Maryann Somerville says:

This is a new site for me Jen – thanks for the link – & thanks for the chance to win!! I love the feel of the mag too – it has been my draw from the start!! ?

  23. Carey Nusbaum says:

What an awesome prize! I just love all the inspiration and ideas I get from SCT! Thank you for the wonderful magazines and giveaways!

  24. Shellee says:

I totally prefer the look and feel of a REAL magazine in my hands. I spend 12 -14 hrs/day at a computer at work. I don’t want to be at a computer at home also! Would love to HOLD these copies!

  25. Cindy says:

I attended Scrapbook Expo in Marlborough, MA, on Friday but didn’t get there early enough to be waiting in line.
I’d love to receive the fall issue of Scrapbook & Cards Today magazine and Creative Cards. I like having a magazine to study for ideas. Thanks for the opportunity to win!

  30. Sharon Oravec says:

I have been wanting to get a copy of this magazine for a while now. Scrapbook.com was giving 1 free with any order. When I placed my order they were out of stock. After I received my order it was back in stock. Magazine was free but charged $5.99 to ship it, so i didn’t buy it. Went to scrapbook expo in Somerset NJ. 3 of my friends and I were about 30 in line but did not receive a copy. It looks like a wonderful magazine so I will just have to wait a little longer. Thank you for the opportunity to win one!

  31. Angela says:

I would love to get a copy of both magazines. I have not been able to find them in our local craft stores, bookstores or grocery stores. So thank you for this opportunity!

  32. Rachel says:
