Freebie Friday – Scrapbook Expo Mystery Box

Mystery Box Giveaway

Freebie Friday with Jen Walker

Every week when I sit down to write this post, it makes me happy. “Why?” you ask. I am happy because I love to share giveaways with all of you AND it means that the weekend is almost here. How do you keep busy on your weekends? I spend my time running from one hockey rink to another, to singing rehearsals, and piano practices. I also like to take some time for myself. I enjoy spending time reading and creating scrapbooking layouts. How do you spend your weekends? Is it all about family time? Do you get time in to get your creative juices flowing?

I have the very special privilege of working with the Scrapbook Expo team. While I am not one of the smiling faces you will see every week at the various Expos, I am the person behind the scenes of Scrapbook Expo’s social media accounts. I enjoy finding projects to share with you on Facebook and Pinterest. I interact with you on Instagram and enjoy chatting on Twitter.

On Facebook, we now have a group for each Scrapbook Expo location. These groups are all about you, with me as your host. If you are interested in attending an event, are planning to attend an event, or have already attended an event, these groups are for you. In the groups you can find out more about the event, classes, hotel specials, promotions, workshops, and more. Are you looking to find a roommate? Do you want suggestions on where to eat? Would you like to meet some people before arriving at the crop? Ask your fellow attendees! Take a moment to share photos of your projects and your time at the show. We will also have some special giveaways and contests posted in the groups. These groups will also give you a place to find other scrapbookers who are located near you, to get advice on purchases, or to chat about anything and everything crafty!

Will you join me? Here are links to all of the locations. If you are participating in more than one Expo, or are thinking about it, jump in and join more than one group.

Have you been to an Expo before? There are so many amazing features of these events. One of my favourite parts of the events is the MEGA Make and Take Extravaganza. During this event, you will participate in exclusive Make & Take projects from top companies and learn about new products and techniques. With all of your project supplies, you will also receive full instructions for each and every MEGA Make & Take projects. This event is sure to become a favourite of yours as well!

I love to read and spend time in my new scrapbooking room, but my favorite thing to do on the weekend is to play board games with my family. Love that precious time!

  1. Kailash says:

I spend time relaxing by watching movies and when I have spare time, I try to go into my craft room to create cards!!!

  2. Angela Bagby says:

On Saturdays I usually start with a big breakfast and a cup of coffee, put on some music and work on a layout/card/stamping challenge. On Sundays I like to take my pugs to a secluded part of a local park by a lake, on a hill, and work on a card or mini-book. It’s serene and peaceful and my pugs are less annoyed with the sound of my scrapbooking tools. They sure can throw me some dirty looks while they’re trying to nap when they hear my paper cutter! They often run off to another room. haha

  3. Laura Turcotte says:

I would LOVE to attend an Expo, but I live near Montreal QC, Canada, and I don’t think you guys would come here. Anyways, I will be there in virtual spirit!
Weekends are spent usually with the family. I take time for myself, and go into my craft area to do crafts, or organize. My DD usually comes with me , and we chat and whatever (she’s 5).

  4. marylouh says:

Christmas in March – a surprise box to open and see what wonderful goodies are inside.
Wish I could attend an Expo. None are close enough at present – hopefully that will change.
    thanks.

  5. Deborah says:

Saturdays I like to spend my time in my craft room….scrap booking, card making, sewing or one of my many crafting loves. Right now I have a broke foot, so I can’t do much of any thing else……not being able to walk, I have to do something while I sit !!! LOL

  6. Janet Wright says:

On the weekends I sleep in, then spend quality time with my family, playing board games, doing crafts, or just going to get coffee together.

If given my choice for the weekend, I like to sleep in, go shopping/do something crafty, and end my day curled up with a good book after everyone else goes to bed.

I usually watch TV and play on the computer to relax…it has been so cold here this year

Spending time in my craft room with my grandchildren is one of my favorite ways to spend a weekend! All three love it in my craft room and are in awe at all of the craft goodies they get to use! After they go home then I get MY creative time in! Creating is the only way to spend a weekend in my opinion!!

I organize my scrapbook supplies, watch a few scrapbook videos on facebook, check the scrapbook expo site for updates and try to complete 1-2 pages for any book I am working on.

  15. Lequita Craig says:

I spend my Saturday being a baseball mom. Last month it was basketball mom. I am a single mom and I keep my 7 year old very active. Therefore I must remain active too. When I get a chance I take him to Michaels to create or we stay home and the car doesn’t move sometimes.

  16. JulesW says:

I look forward to catching up on my digital layouts that I began during the week (or it could be cards that I need to make). Watching movies and relaxing with DH is one of my favorite events of the weekends. Thank you for the chance to win! I was at the Orlando Expo on Saturday and it was fabulous!

  17. Sheryl in N. Florida says:

Well my opinion of thanking myself is to spend quality time with my hubby, (awesome son and daughter-in-law, IF, they get to come in town), and 2 precious granddaughters who gets to come and visit about every other weekend! And if any of those aren’t accessible, then I try to get my Scrappin buddy to come over and help me finish re-organizing my scrapbook rooms so that we can get in there and play and make cards for our family and friends and scrapbook till our hearts are content! I still try to make cards even though the rooms are not completely finished getting reorganized, but we are far enough along in them that I’m able to go in there and create when I need to. We are about 85% done with re-doing and reorganizing the scrapbook rooms and I cannot wait until they are 100% complete! Wish me luck 🙂 hope this finds you all having a very blessed craftin’ weekend! sheryl

I had a blast at your Scrapbook Expo!!!! Can’t wait to go ahead next year and I really do enjoy your emails with tips and information about new products.

  20. Diane Green says:

Saturday is kids and sports. Sunday starts off with a home cooked breakfast, then it’s ‘Craft Time with the Kids’! I totally let them create whatever. I watch and get my inspiration going. Then it’s my time to craft the rest of the day!!

  21. Lindarub says:

I take my mom out in the morning than in the afternoon I take her home. When I get home I read the newspaper and emails. Sometimes I work on some cards.

  26. Tracey Wesstrom says:

If I have a longer period of time I love to relax by scrapbooking my photos and memories of my family. If I’m by myself I turn on an old movie (so I don’t have to concentrate on it) in the background and have a wonderful time creating and saving our memories for future generations.

  27. carrie bryant says:

I love to get some crafting in most weekends. When not crafting I love to go on hikes with my husband and kids. I am looking forward to attending the Mega make n take in Anaheim on the 19th of March. I went last year in Ontario and had a blast. So worth it. I am also cropping with 3 other friends on Friday too.

  28. Karen K says:

I spend my relax time on weekends with my 5 children. To me, family time is what I enjoy the most and what is most important. Four of my 5 play sports, so I spend LOTS of time running to and from the ball fields. The baby gets dragged along with me to at least clap for her siblings (hey, she is only 10 months!). I also love to craft after the kids go to bed and the baby is in bed for the night. One weekend a month, I take the baby along with one or two of my other kids with me to our church to a crop. We enjoy creating together and spending time with the other ladies and one other little boy. To me, those are the times I want to cherish and remember as well as have my children remember.

  29. HawaiianLibrarian says:

I am so excited to be attending my first ever Expo…in Anaheim! Doesn’t seem fair to try to win this Mystery Box since there’ll be lots of goodies @ Expo. However, I could share this mystery w/ my monthly crafts crew that meets each first weekend @ our public library. Woot! Woot! That’s what I call gal pal’s weekend stress-down: talk, craft, eat, repeat!

  30. Alejandra says:

I have a brain injury, so after a busy week at work and maybe some dr. appointments, the weekend is ME time

  31. Myra says:

What do I do on the weekend….for myself: I set an hour aside for connecting to my one little word explore, an hour to create a card or a scrapbook page and an hour for a walk through nature. The activity may go past the hour and that’s okay. If I didnt set aside an hour spot then I would end up with a weekend over and nothing done for myself.

  32. Pam B says:

Since retiring I get to do more of what I love. Scrapbooking, sewing, doing anything crafty is relaxing. Recently made cookbooks from handwritten recipes from my mother(9 total) for my children and other family members. She has been gone for 30 years so this was very special to everyone. I am now working on scrapbooks of my children’s school years(3 down, 1 to go). Hope to go to Sacramento in October. Have been to several Scrap Expos and they are so much fun. Look forward to them each year. Keep up the good work.

  33. Jan Posch says:

I usually exercise Sat. morning and do whatever I feel like doing. Usually it’s watching Youtube of people making cards or art journaling. That’s going to change though. No more exercising on Saturdays, instead of want to go visit with my family (they’re an hr. away). Sundays, we go to Sunday School, morning service, go out to eat, take a nap, and go to pm service. 🙂 Sundays are my favorite day!

  34. Sandy J says:

Relaxation time is Sunday mornings with my dragon boat team. The rest of the weekend is open for paper crafting, card making, photographing the beautiful NW. What ever the weather and my mood require.

  35. Jennifer Leicht says:

Weekends for me, are about recovering from the past week, preparing for next week and my favorite is family. Since I work during the week, the weekends I get to spend more time with my hubby and beautiful 3 year old son. My husband lets me sleep in a little on Sundays. If I can stay awake, LOL, my play/relax/crafting time is when the boys go to bed. Sometimes I sneak off into my studio, and other times I sit in bed with a lapdesk and color with my Copics. Then Sunday evenings we have a big family dinner at my mother in laws. That is my favorite part of the weekend. Thank you Jen for all your hard work. I have loved being a part of the FB group for my Expo, as it was my 1st time. So I found a lot of helpful tips and info. ♡♡♡

  36. karenajo says:

I love to find time on the weekends to spend making cards and working in my craft room. Sundays are spent going to church and spending time with friends .

  37. Karen P says:

When my mojo is flowing I love to scrapbook and make cards. Sometimes just playing with paper, markers, or watercolor is all I need for fun. When I don’t seem to have any creative mojo, I enjoy surfing the web for inspiration almost as much as getting creative myself.

  38. Carey Nusbaum says:

I like to sleep in, spend time with family and friends, and craft in my craft room during the weekend! Crafting rejuvenated me and reduces my stress!

  39. Deb Duryee says:

The best weekend for me involves my craft room, my kids & husband and sunshine. The laid back timeline leads to a great, relaxing weekend…

  40. Jeanne says:

I have six Saturdays and a Sunday each week. I relax by going to my Craft Room and playing and just doing what interests me at that moment.

  41. Jenny Javier says:

Well, not sure you would think I really relax on the weekends but Saturday I do get to do all the errands, house chores, and cooking done that i can’t get to during the week since i work outside of the home. I know it sounds like not relaxing, but it’s a relief for me to get these things taken care of since they glare at me all week. I relax by getting to cook big batch meals, I love fill my family full of home cooked food and I don’t have to cook during the week. Relax on Sunday by going to church, and late in the afternoon i get to make my cards or mini albums.

  42. Chris Watson says:

At the start of the year, I decided it was time to do more things to take care of myself and find ways to relax my body AND my mind from my stressful job. I joined a local gym and subscribed to two craft magazines. I go to the gym for a workout and read my magazines while I’musing the treadmill, exercise bike, or elliptical. I have time to myself to think about these ideas and when I get home, I can’t wait to take the new ideas and make great pages and fun cards. (After I’ve taken a shower if course!) since I’ve already gotten my workout, I don’t have to feel guilty about sitting at my craft table for a couple hours, using the new ideas I found in the magazines I read while working out.

  43. Sue Laurain says:

On weekends I like to get up late, drink coffee, spend time with family and friends – as well as crafting of course 🙂

  44. Linda Westenberger says:

For myself, I attend church on Sunday mornings to recharge for the week ahead. And o do something I enjoy such as crafting or reading at some point during the weekend.

  45. Robin O says:

I recently attended my first Scrapbook Expo in Grapevine, TX. Now I’m ‘hooked’! Previous to the expo, I did only a few cards, pages or other projects. After looking at all the wonderful tools and techniques, now, I have the scrapbooking bug!

  46. Linda Campbell says:

I’m finally retired. Every day is like is like the weekend. I get up, read the paper, crochet a little and have my coffee. I love Scrapbooking, card making and sewing. My latest obsession is YouTube tutorials. I love getting your emails. They inspire me so much.

  47. Christine Mikkola says:

Weekends are mostly for spending time with DH and our 3 kids. If I get some Me Time I spend it crafting, reading, or watching old black and white movies.

  48. Karen Critcher says:

After I finish my housework, I sit at my table, turn on my 70’s music, get a cold Diet Coke and look at my calendar. I look to see who’t birthday or anniversary is coming up and try to make a custom card for that person. Before I know it, it’s supper time and my husband has prepared something wonderful for me. Oh how I love weekends!

  49. George Barton says:

I love to spend weekends with my wife. We do most everything together. And now after attending Scrapbook Expo in Grapevine, we now spend time scrapbooking together. I’m hooked. Thanks for opening a whole new adventure.

  50. Jan Ingraham says:

If I don’t have something scheduled on a weekend and have my own time I like to actually go thru my many card making goodies and find inspirations an maybe re-organize. Gets me percolating.

  51. Erin says:

The weekends tend to be family time. Softball, basketball games, family fun days. I tend to do some reading for “me” time and try to get in a workout. To keep my juices flowing, I spend a little time browsing my quilting, sewing and scrapbooking blogs to see what is happening. I have really been trying to reduce that time, so that I can spend it actually accomplishing something instead of just thinking about it. I am really enjoying the sights and sounds of Spring that are coming into full play right now too.

  52. Jenelle Reyes says:

On the weekends I like to relax and create some cards and do a little bit of reading!

  53. Shannon Brown says:

I like to scrapbook awesome things that my kindergarteners have done during the week. I try to bring new pages to hang on the walls on Monday. At the end of the year I have a whole album of the year complete. 😉

  54. Nancy Mitchell-Houser says:

i work full time for the county in a demanding job, and I work a 10-hour volunteer job on Saturdays. So Sunday is my day to get all my errands done, thankfully my hubby does the laundry on Saturdays, so I have a few hours of “me time”.

I usually work on a scrapbook project, read, or write (trying to write a book, but haven’t gotten too far).

  55. Darlene says:

My reward each weekend is to create something – either a layout or a card or a tag. I would love to spend several hours creating but I rarely have that luxury. I tend to do a portion of whatever I’m working on in 10 or 15 minute spurts. When it’s late in the evening and I’m too tired to create, I enjoy reading fiction on my Kindle.

  56. Cynthia Xavier says:

I work full-time so my weekends are very busy. Saturday is filled with cleaning the house , grocery shopping, filling the car with gas and going to the produce store. Then put it away. Water the yard the start dinner. Sunday day is Laundry day and free time. This is where I get a few hours to play with my stamps, read , or work in the garden. With day light saving I hope to have more free time to play. Do more doing the week so I have more free time on the weekend

  57. Jody Moore says:

I actually work a lot of weekends so I relax during the weekdays, love my craft room, card making and learning more mixed media techniques and time on my iPad !

This weekend I made cards , watched some TV and made some butterflies with card stock and vellum with my sizzix big shot for my grandaughter

  60. sherry butcher says:

what I do for yourself on the weekends? I’m retired so it easy for me to relax when I need to and on weekends I crate cards for challenges to get posted by the end date. If I get time I’ll walk the dog 2 times not the usual 1. TFS.

  61. Doris says:

I have lupus and fibromyalgia so I learned to relax by scrapbooking and making cards. This keeps my hands active and my mind. It also helps to take my mind off my mind and relaxes my brain. And it also helps having my dogs sit there while I scrapbook.

  62. Katie Heller says:

Weekends use to be all about my husband and I, but for the last 11 months!we use the weekend to spend more quality time with our son. If I can sneak it in while he’s napping, I love to get a little scrapping or baking done.

  63. Barbara Patrick says:

I enjoy my weekends by getting into my craft room and playing. It is a time for me and to relax from a hectic week.

  64. Su K says:

Since I am retired I have all week to do as I wish. I love decorating my home inside and out for every holiday. This weekend I spent time trying to re-organize my craft room. Anyone that crafts knows how messy it can get after creating. In between I spent some time outside trying to get rid of the icicles formed on my home. But if I could I would be creating scrapbooks, cards and more every day. So many new ways to create.

  65. Mary Kimes says:

I love spending time with the family but when you have watched the same show 2 or 3 times it’s time to head to my retreat and scrap. It may be a card or scrapbook layout but it is time for myself to be creative and not veg out.

  68. Chris D. says:

On my weekends, I would love some R&R. However, with three boys, that is not always possible. 🙂 When I do get some time to unwind I like to read and do some crafting. I also like to watch some crafting tutorials to learn new techniques and to see what great products are out there.

  69. M Samuelson says:

In my craft room relaxing is my weekend therapy!! BTW I joined the Anaheim Expo group on FB

  70. Rannah Romps says:

My Weekends are spent making cards and scrapbooking. I might get things ready during the week as I only will get a half an hour here and there but I get the whole weekend! I do not cook or really clean on the weekends. My children are all grown up so it’s like they say: You say empty nest, I say MORE TIME TO SCRAPBOOK!!
    LOL

  71. Crystal Williams says:

On the weekends I like to read, watch movies on Netflix, watch scrapbook hauls on YouTube. If I feel creative enough I’ll look through some photos and create a layout. This is awesome. Thank you for the chance.

  72. Linda Weber says:

For relaxation, I just head into my craft room, turn on some music and begin organizing from the previous day. Then I pull out my WIPs and just get immersed in creating scrapbook pages and cards with the left overs from the scrapbook pages! Before I know it hours have passed and I leave with a great sense of accomplishment.

  73. Naomi L says:

Currently, I love spending time with my 2 year old. Even though I would love to be able to do crafty things with whatever spare time I can get, I know how precious these times are with my little one especially since they grow up too fast!! My son is the most funny, silly, smart little kid and I enjoy watching him grow.
I would love to win a surprise box filled with scrapbook goodies so that when I do get the time to work on crafty things, I can scrap about my beautiful little boy 🙂

  74. Regina Furman says:

My weekend relaxation routine includes reading, crafting (card making, quilling), watching some television, and most importantly, going to my religious services.

I relax by either sewing, crafting, or reading. I try to relax as often as possible! LOL.

  76. Muffin Sewell says:

Sometimes I create, sometimes I play my flute, other times I run or bike. And naps. Always naps.

  77. Bethany Stockman says:

Since tax season has been in full swing, I like to relax by spending time on the couch with my toddler watching Mickey Mouse or Sofia the First. Also I have movie date nights with my hubby. When I can’t sleep I go full night owl in my craft room

  78. Rebecca Daly says:

On the weekends, I don’t usually get time to create as that is when my husband is off work and we spend time as a familly. This past weekend on Saturday we went into town , went to the post office (to check the mail), got coffee/treats at tim hortons, went to the pharmacy, we then went to the park and played in the snow and went on a jewel hunt (put on by the local parent child centre). We were there for a bit and since it was quite windy so we went to the library to warm up. While my son and husband played trains I picked out books. My son then helped picked books out. We then went home for lunch and so my son could nap (he’s three). After his nap we went to another town to watch an NHL alumni game and get autographs for my dad. Sunday we had a lazy family day and watched movies while snuggling on the couch. However last night before i put my son to bed I was able to cut out and ink photo placements for a baby album I NEED to create this week.

  79. Robin Smith says:

I spend the weekend scrapbooking or card making of I’m not spending time with my family.

  80. Amber Fritz says:

You asked what I do for myself on the weekends. Well, my first response was a list of activities like drive to soccer and softball games, plan Girl Scout troop meetings, work on laundry, and plan for my work week but I don’t really do those things for me, specifically. So I had to think about this question a little bit. My answer is that I don’t do that much just for me and I realize that I should. I get burnt out and now I see that it is because I need more time for me. My goal this weekend, thanks to you, Jen, is to do something just for me. I need it and deserve it!!

    • Jen Walker says:

Hi Amber! You absolutely deserve to do something for yourself. I, like you, often worry about everyone else in the family. It takes effort to remember to do something for myself. I am glad that you are going to do something for yourself. Enjoy!

  81. Gail L. says:

Friday night through the winter is craft night with the girls. We are making welcome signs right now.
I also do card making, crocheting & read!
We also have Sunday supper; I love to cook, and the kids come when they’re in town & some friends!

  82. Jessie Wasser says:

Now that my hubby has retired weekends are spent with the grand kids. We have 4, the triplets (2 boys and 1 girl) are 6 and in kindergarten and their little sister is 4 and in pre school. The kids have a busy week so we take full advantage of the weekends to visit them. I bring my camera, some kind of goodie for them( because I’m Grammy and it’s my job to spoil them) and we drive 1:15 minutes to get to their house. We spend the day playing, doing crafts(they all love doing crafts or just coloring ) and just talking and catching up with their week. I take lots of pictures of them and that’s what I scrap during the week. They are my inspiration. I feel I have the best weekends.

  83. Julie Apodaca says:

On weekends I hang out with my family, we relax with a good meal and a movie we all have wanted to see. My time to myself to relax is when everyone has gone to bed and I can indulge in my guilty pleasure . . .watching reality shows (you know those Housewives shows) while organizing my craft supplies and having a chocolate (of course) treat!

  84. Sheila B. says:

I usually sleep in, catch up on TV recorded during the week, and cook enough to be able to eat leftovers for lunches and dinners the following week. Then work on cards in my spare time!

  85. Camille P. says:

For the weekends, I relax and “thank” myself by stitching special gifts for my children for their birthdays, which will be here soon, I create handmade cards for those special family members and close friends. My husband and children do most of the cooking on the weekends to give me a much deserved break. And finally, I like to solve crossword puzzles and read mystery books.

  87. Dawn Opfer says:

On weekends, I need to unwind. When it’s nice out, we try to go riding (atv’s). It’s a great physical release. Since the death of my son, scrapbooking has taken on a whole new part of my life. I’ve scrapbooked since the 80’s, but not like we do it now. After his death, I went to my first crop. I found it so therapeutic. I jumped into scrapbooking on a whole different level then. The riding gives me the physical de-stressing and scrapbooking helps me unwind my mind.

  88. Tammy Valley says:

When I’m not on call for work, I either relax by coloring, catch up on much needed sleep or when the weather gets a bit warmer, fish 🙂

  89. Kristine Mylett says:

To thank myself for a busy week I snuggle and sleep in with my toddler on Saturdays. We spend the evening playing and watching her favorite movies in the evening. Then Sunday after church I treat myself by watching some of the shows I love that recorded on the DVR that week. I don’t have time to indulge in my shows during the week. If I’m lucky I get to scrap!!

  90. Devy Collins says:

I am usually at my craft table, working on cards or layouts. My second favorite weekend activity is crochet. I always have a basket near my chair.

I try to do some scrapbooking at least 3 times a week. I have so many ideas but not enough time, don’t most of us. I would love to attend an Expo but they are so far away from me. I really would like to win. Good luck everyone

I start my weekend with a run – just so I don’t feel bad about the nap I will take later in the day. Then I spend the rest of my weekend in my craft room creating.

  95. Shellee says:

On weekends, I combine several of my favorite things to relax! First, I try to catch up on some MUCH needed sleep, which fits in nicely with one of my very favorite things– snuggling with my cat! Then, do just enough weekend household chores to feel that I have earned my crafting time! I sit down at my desk, turn on the computer to catch up on the TV shows I missed during the week, and begin to scrapbook or make cards. This continues until the cat again decides it is time for more “cat” time! The stress just melts away as I sit at my craft desk, listen to the cat purr and watch some mindless TV while I am playing with my crafting toys! And no–I’m not a crazy cat lady!

  96. Sonia Coursey says:

Empty nester here. Currently weekends are being able to go to AYSO Soccer All-Stars to watch first born granddaughter play and be entertained by her younger sister. Snapping away with my camera, of course. Using my mental creative juices for scrapbook layouts. Family time and scrapbook time two of my favorite things.

  100. Sandra Bauerle says:

Unfortunately I have to work weekends my work never closes, but due to my job I need to take time off to relieve the stress. Every weekend is different whether we all sit around and do absolutely nothing, but the best way I find to destress is hanging out with all my girlfriends and doing a crop. And the other thing would be getting away for a weekend whether one daughter has rodeo or the other one has cheer!

  101. Lisa Norstrom says:

I usually work on the weekends, but on the days I do have off I love working in my craftroom making cards. I usually watch crafty tutorials or a good movie while I am creating. I actually took last weekend off to attend the expo with my husband – he is so fabulous and supportive of my hobby! We had a wonderful time! We can never get enough of the expo and would LOVE to win a mystery box – thanks for the chance to win!

  102. Cynthia says:

Usually I do nothing for myself. I am always busy doing everything I don’t have time to do during the week. But last weekend on Sunday I spent the afternoon making some cards. I had a wonderful time. I will do it again this weekend
    .

    • Jen Walker says:

Cynthia, I am thrilled that you were able to take some time for yourself. I totally understand how hard it can be to do this. Love that you made cards.

I try to read or spend time taking my pup on a walk to get a bit of exercise… especially now since the weather is getting so nice here!

  106. Charity Chamberlain says:

What I like to do for myself to relax is actually spend time with my family. I don’t have much family left so the best gift to help me relax is to spend time making memories with them. We do things like play games, go to the lake/beach, or go to archery tournaments my daughter competes in. I also have lots of bonding time with my daughter when we craft, do our nails & hair, or watch silly videos on the internet. I know it’s a different kind of way to relax and do something for yourself but for me making memories is the only way I know how to relax 🙂

  107. Kassi Ruth says:

Ohh I watch YouTube videos on crafting looking for ideas and new techniques to try. I then work on crafting projects and hang out with my hubs and son. If I have time I will also go by all the crafting stores in our area to see if anything new has come out. I keep a list of products I want to try and am always on the lookout. Crafting and my family are the things I enjoy most in the world, I am happy when I can do both of those things at the same time 🙂

  111. Sandi B says:

My weekends I have spent scrapping since Christmas with the cold weather. Stay inside and be warm. Now that the weather is starting to warm up (hurry up Spring) I want to work in my yard but still spend at least a couple of hours in my scraproom. I also promised my sister that I would make her a quilt. I need to start that too. Anything crafty is relaxing to me.

  112. Yvette Williams says:

On any given weekend I could be crafting at my favorite scrapbook store doing make n takes or hanging out watching tv & resting before I go to church. I make the time to be still and enjoy whatever my mind leads me to do.

  113. Carol H. says:

Well usually spend time crafting. I’m on a mission to use things I already have. My husband and I like to go see a movie, have our daughters over and enjoy spending time with them. 🙂

My weekends are usually Tuesday & Wednesday. My Sat & Sun are spent taking care of an elderly aunt who just turned 90. So on my weekend. As soon as the dishes are done, I read a book and then I spend an afternoon crafting for me. Scrapbooking, card making or trying a new technique.

  115. Karen Critcher says:

I grab a Diet Coke and the telephone and call my brother and sister who live 1,200 miles away from me. I only get to see them every 3 or 4 years. I miss them so much so our phone calls mean a lot to me.

I brainstorm crafting ideas on the phone with my beautiful and talented sister Jan! We shop, create, talk, laugh and enjoy each other for hours. I am one lucky gal.

  117. Joyce says:

My favorite way to spend the weekends is 1) go to the gym for a strong assets class or a 5 mile walk or 12 mile bike ride on the great bike paths around here; 2) have a too full breakfast at the greasy spoon; 3) then go to the mall for some shopping; and then 4) a movie. Perfect!

  118. Lynn Embrey says:

Being semi-retired, my “weekend” is sometimes in the middle of the week! I am in direct sales and am music director at my church, so Sat-Sun are usually my busiest days. When I get that day or two to regroup and rejuvenate, I like to play computer games, get creative with some scrapbooking, catch up on Scandal and Ellen (all dvr’d during the week). Looking forward to getting away to the expo in Chantilly!

  119. Elena K. Christodoulia says:

  124. Kathy Woolverton says:

I like to relax on the weekend by reading, watching my boys play sports, scrapbooking, or watching YouTube videos. I would love to spend a future weekend enjoying all the goodies in the mystery box!

  125. Melissa G says:

Always on the go! That’s how most of my weekends end up – filled with kids, family, sports, events, etc. Every now and then, a girl has to get away in order to get some scrapbooking done! That’s why I attend scrapbook crops and retreats throughout the year as a reward for myself.

  126. Kim Klinkovsky-My Kraft Kloset says:

I have four kids. So, I try to reward myself by catching up on my sleep on some Saturdays, if my kids let me. I try and relax in my pj’s on the couch with a good movie some weekend nights. Or I’ll put on my creative cap and make cards for family or friends. I have been to the Denver Expo a couple times and have loved it every time. I usually just come to shop, but one day I’ll stay and crop or go to a class. Thanks for all you do!

  127. Carol R. says:

On Sunday afternoon usually after church and a walk with my hubby–I like to take a little nap. I’ve taken a Sunday afternoon nap ever since I was a little kid. If you ask those who know me–they would say I am better to be around because of that nap.

  128. Elena says:

Well, saturday morning is time for me! Finally, after spending all the week with my little daughter (she’s 1,7 years old), i can have a little time for myself 🙂 Husband takes care of our child, and with a smile on my face, early in the morning, while my family is still sleeping, i leave my home for a fitness power up, than i have a sweet coffee break with my best friend (and hete we discuss all our scrapbooking ideas, plans, etc.). After break, i visit my vocal coach – this is a hobby i absolutely adore (after scrapbooking:) ), singing makes me feel free and takes all the stress out of my body & soul. And all the rest of the day and half of the night – it’s tome to create!

  129. Cyndi Price says:

I live in the country and there’s nothing better than to sit out on my screened porch at night, enjoying the cool breeze and the sound of crickets chirping, with my iPad surfing for ideas for my next project.

  130. Krista Danielson says:

I don’t get a lot of time to relax, but when I do, we like to take in all that our local area has to offer! We have gone for a bike ride on the beautiful American River Bike Trail, hiked and enjoyed the scenic gold rush area in Coloma, or enjoy wine tasting locally in El Dorado and Amador County. However, if I want to relax at home in my pj’s, I pull out my favorite paper-crafting tools (my Silhouette, a paper trimmer, quilling tools, etc.) and create a few cards to send to family and friends.
