Happy Friday Everyone! Today is a very exciting day in our house for two reasons. The first reason is because it is a long weekend here in Canada and I am taking off all three days! Yay! The second reason I am excited is because my sister and her family will be in town visiting. It is always a ton of fun to get to hang out with my sister and our kids have a wonderful time together as well.  Bring on the family time!

This week’s projects were created using Sizzix products. I had a blast using their amazing products.

Over the last month I have needed birthday cards for both my niece and my dad’s birthdays so the Happy Birthday Step-Ups, the Banners and the Flowers and Dots set were perfect! I really enjoyed using the Big Shot (and the precision base plate) for both die cutting and embossing. Love it and the pink cutting pads! Oh, and that book .. ‘Sizzix Idea Book – Upcycle with Sizzix‘ has so many wonderful ideas. I took a photo of one of my favourite ideas from the book. These ‘Game On’ gift boxes are fabulous. I have a few board games that I would love to use for this type of project.

I started off by creating the birthday step-up card. I decided to make this card all about the birthday wishes and the presents.

The next card I created is a simple birthday card with a fun pink cupcake.

The next card was created using the banner #2 dies. There are so many occasions where you would use a banner to celebrate. The sentiment comes from the Happy Birthday Step-Ups set.

The last card I created used the Flowers and Dots set by Stephanie Barnard. I absolutely love the skinny embossing folders. I chose to use the flowers folder along the top and then emboss the sentiment and a stamped flower below.

    I just bought the new Tim Holtz thinlits scribbles and splat. Love this new die set and can’t wait to use it on layouts and cards. Love my big shot and the ease of using it. Great machine for scrapbooking and cardmaking.

    I’ve been experimenting with stair step cards, making them manually, with quite a bit of trail and error. Having a die with make it easier for standard sized cards. Is there any way to adapt it for different size steps or steps in different locations on the card? Would love to have the die and find out 🙂

    I love the magnetic platform for my thin metal dies . It keeps them from slipping so I get perfect cuts.

    I have one of the old sizzix and love using it to make some of my own die cuts for my scrapbooks. I would love to own one of the newer ones since it is easier to find dies to go with it and more designs to use.

    Hey. I bought my first big shot last week. I love the framelits because i can cut skin and a lot of types of material and embossing is perfect too. I use it for mixing scrapbooking and bookbinding together and these two techniques are pretty awesome. Im planning to buy profi bog shot!

    I have tried the Bigshot and love it. Have had another brand for a very long time and do love the fact that if I can get a Bigshot I will not have to replace all my dies. Can’t wait to go to the Scrapbook Expo in Chantilly, VA this year!

    I love my Big Shot Express I use it on every scrapbook page I make. I don’t know how many Sizzix dies I have… tons; but, know I have 37 Sizzix alphabets & 2 more on the way. Yes, I think it is my first addiction. 🙂

    I love using the Sizzix “Big Shot” and the Decorative Label Set #4. I can make specialty labels for scrapbooking, gift tags for family and friends or embellishments that POP on presentations or handmade cards. It is so versatile and great to have in my craft retinue!

    I love my Sizzix embossing folders, they make all my projects look so unique and I think they just add that special something. My favourites right now are the brick and wood look ones, they really help with the manly look that is sometimes hard to achieve with handmade cards!

    I don’t have any sizzix, but would love some. I recently had to quit going to my weekly crop due to finances, and I would use the ones that my friends would bring with them, I love to emboss the back round paper for both cards and my scrapbook pages. I also used it to cut out several shapes that I love in my gardening pages. I am currently trying to save to add this to my craft collection to be able to use in all my projects. It all looks so cool!!!

    I have the very old school sizzix machine the kind you crank the handle back and forth I still use it with ols sizzix dies and the thick dies. I love it but would be nice for a upgrade. Love sizzix products

    Since i have bought the Big Shot and some dies, Sizzix thinlits,I have loved it, my family loved it too and bought the second one too, now every Thursday night we are having craft nights with my sister and my nieces, this is the way to keep the family together having fun and time to relax. I think I can’t live without it anymore. Thanks for an awesome invention.
