Hey, everyone! Roree here with another Make It! Monday project. Today I am sharing a home décor piece I created with Jillibean Soup’s Mix the Media 6×6 wood plank.
I started off with a 6×6 wood plank, a stencil, a stencil brush, and some acrylic paint.
I placed the stencil over the front of the wood plank, adding a little tape on the edges to hold the stencil in place.
I dipped the brush in the acrylic paint and then blotted it in a dry area to remove most of the paint from the brush.
I then dabbed the “dry” brush over the stencil to lightly add paint to the exposed wood.
After adding the paint and letting it dry, I misted the wood plank with gold Color Shine mist.
I removed the mask and let the mist dry.
Once the wood plank was dry, I added gold glitter enamel shapes around the outer edge of the stenciled image.
In the center, I layered chipboard flower and sentiment shapes from the My Mind’s Eye My Story collection, adding some die cut flowers with brads for dimension.
I love the way it turned out and I can’t wait to hang it on my wall.
I hope you enjoyed today’s Make It! Monday project. Thanks so much for stopping by!
That is really pretty and simple to make.. gives me idea for decor in my home…thanks for sharing.
It was pretty simple, Cristel. I am so glad it inspired you. 🙂
Love this! You could also set the wood block on a shelf to display it.
Thanks, Serena! I am actually displaying it on a shelf right now. 😉
