Welcome back, my crafty friends! I hope you are having a great weekend so far. The weather here in Utah is so beautiful; spring is definitely in the air. I just love this time of year when the flowers are starting to bloom and the grass and trees are turning green. I hope your weather is beautiful as well, and you are enjoying a beautiful spring day!
Today I want to share this gorgeous layout (which reminds me so much of spring) created by the very talented Delaina Burns. She always inspires me with her talent. Head on over to Delaina’s Embellished Memories to receive more of her wonderful inspiration. The soft richness of this beautiful layout is to die for.
Delaina used the beautiful collection “Butterfly” by Prima. She pulled out the coordinating embellishments to snuggle the photo of that sweet little baby and created a beautiful masterpiece layout. Splashes of Color Bloom spray add a delightful touch to her layout. Delaina also used the accented collection flowers to create a beautiful garden around her sweet photo. To give her layout a final touch, she added Micro Beads and modeling paste for some dimension. What a beautiful way to add a vintage spin on this layout.
Sometimes we need to create something simple, classic, and elegant and today’s card is just that. Don’t you just love this design? John Lockwood created this gorgeous card by using Cricut transfer tape, which is transparent so you can see exactly where you place it.
The background of the card is created from a stamp set Dogwood flower by John Lockwood Stamps. To achieve the faded look, John used distress ink in spiced marmalade and tea dye over the image. To find the instructions on how to create this outstanding card visit the blog John Next Door. You will be amazed how easy this gorgeous card is to make.
Here is another fabulous spring card. Are you a Tim Holtz fan, like I am? This card was created by Annette Green using a challenge from Tim’s book “A Compendium of Curiosities Vol. III.” This is a simple to create card with a mixed media feel.
Annette used a Perspective stamp set and Watercolor stamp set. She stamped some images from the two stamp sets using black archival ink onto Ranger Distress Watercolor Carstock, then colored them with Distress Markers and the water brush. The butterfly is popped up giving it some dimension and she slightly folded the butterfly’s wings. Pop on over to Annette’s Creative Journey to get the complete instructions for this card. You will have so much fun in creating this!
