Freebie Friday – Scrapbook Expo Mystery Box

Easter Printer Tray

Freebie Friday with Jen Walker

Happy Friday! I am excited as today starts a long weekend for my kids, my husband, and I. In our house, this is big news as my husband works outside and does not often take off any of the summer long weekends. This weekend we are going to kick up our feet and spend some time together. We will likely play a board game or two, a card game, and possibly go see a movie. Ahhh, who am I kidding? It will also include an Easter egg hunt, lots of chocolate, and a family dinner including a few pies. Can you say YUMMY?

In celebration of this being Easter weekend, today I am going to share with you a few Easter projects that caught my eye. Many of these projects have tutorials available on the designer’s blog. Yay! Love that! If you like a project (or two or six), please take a moment to stop by the designer’s blog and show them some love.

Ready? Set. Here we go ….

My favorite aspect of scrapbooking and card making is the creative process. I enjoy visiting blogs like this one for inspiration.

  2. Carla Hundley says:

I love coming up with an
    idea and seeing it take
shape as I make it. Most
    times the project doesn’t
turn out as I thought of it
as it changes as I create it.
    Happy Easter to all.

  3. Kailash says:

My favorite aspect of card making is the creative process and seeing the end result, just love that I was blessed with some creativity to do what I love!!!

  4. Elizabeth Vitek says:

I love to see people’s expressions of joy and amazement when I hand them a homemade card, created uniquely for them. People tell me these are the cards they keep and treasure.

  5. Laura Turcotte says:

There is so much I love about scrapbooking, but I think the creative way of leaving memories in tact for future generations is tops for me. Need to have my story told!

  6. Cynthia says:

My favorite thing about scrapbooking is knowing that a future generation will have something tangible that will show them who their family really was.

  7. Regina Furman says:

My favorite part of card making is pulling the design together. I generally have a rough idea of how I want a card to look. Being able to look through my cardstock, paper, embossing folders, dies and embellishments to see what I can create just makes me happy!

  8. tammy kist says:

I love having a creative outlet…it uses a different part of my brain, it calms me…it’s my time, the things I make are a bonus 😉

  9. Carol Fritz says:

I love the memories that come with scrapbooking. Remembering my kids when they were little!

  10. Snazzy JJ says:

So many fun ideas for Easter!!! My favorite aspect is the creative outlet and taking a break from the “real world.”

  11. Christy Atherton says:

My favorite part is collecting ideas, through Pinterest, blogs or magazines and then putting my own twist on it to make it my own.

  12. Susan Gaynor says:

My favorite aspect of card making/scrapbook ink is the crossover between all kinds of crafts. Today we use not only paper but fabric, beads, paint, wood, clay, and any other manner of craft supplies and skills collected over the years. It is an all out craftapalooza every time I sit down. That being said, it can also be as simple as prefolded paper and stickers… Perfect for every mood and skill set!

  13. Kialaya says:

My favorite aspect of this hobby is being able to see the face of the person to whom I give my creations as a present. They sometimes actually don’t believe I did do it all myself.

  14. Susie Nichols says:

The creative process itself can be such a joy. Seeing a thought come to life through your own hands. But, more than that, sharing it. Sharing those memories. The smiles, laughter and even tears that come when remembering those special times with special people. Pure joy.

  15. Rebecca Yahrling says:

My favorite part is seeing the surprise on the recipient’s face when they ask “Did you really make this?!” It makes it all worth the time & effort.

  16. sue says:

I love creating birthday invites and the decorations for my grandchildren birthday parties . Its really fun seeing the banners and decorations up . and its nice to to hear the adults talk about them

  17. Kathleen Christen says:

I love making a card for someone & seeing the joy on their face when they open the envelope. I love hearing my 4 year old Granddaughter’s voice saying “I can’t believe you did this for me, GaGa!” <3

  18. LCJinRoslynPA says:

I love the tactile stimulation of making a scrapbook page or card. There is something magical about taking a flat piece of paper and turning it into something with depth, dimension, and meaning. I also enjoy the eye candy – so many beautiful products to see and to manipulate makes this hobby an endless delight.

  19. Denise Bryant says:

My favorite aspect is creating a special card made just for the recipient. Could be their favorite colors that I use, or a theme I know they’ll like, etc. Planning it to be just for them is a part of the creating that I really love.

  20. Lynda says:

I really like being able to give someone something that is made specifically for them…which is why I love making cards and other paper crafts. Thank you for the chance to win!

  21. barb macaskill says:

My favorite part about cardmaking is that I can take pretty papers and embellishments and add some adhesives to make something that I send to someone special! I know that when they receive it they will feel the love that went into making it and smile and feel special!! That is why I do it!

  22. Veronica Cordry says:

i love the beautiful cards after a little work, and everyone’s excitement when I share them with them.

  23. elizabeth stamps says:

I love many things about scrapbooking. I love to sit down with pictures and let them decide what paper, embellishments, etc to use. I can have a very rough day and sit down to scrapbook and I feel so much better. I love scrapbooking because years from now when people look at my albums, the pictures, embellishments, and journaling will tell the story so everyone will know what was going on and how I felt. When you look at a photo album you just see pictures, scrapbooks give life to those pictures. I have made some and given as gifts, and they were very well loved. People know it takes time to do this and they know they are very well loved. I even make scrapbooks, where they family of new babies just have to add the pictures and journaling to finish. I give them adhesives and makers to finish them.

  24. George Barton says:

I am fairly new at scrapbooking, but I love the creative side. It gives you a chance to put in paper or a project, a part of yourself. Much like my other passion, playing the saxophone. Everyone can express what they’re feeling and not have to be “right” or “wrong”.

  25. Grace Griswold says:

I love the creative process but after a weekend of cropping my most favorite aspect of scrapbooking is the look on my husbands face when I show him my pages.

  26. Marie Brishke says:

Favorite aspect? Scrapbooking is my “happy place.” When I need to escape from reality, I go into my crop room and pick up where I left off. You can hear my “purring” all thru the house!! 😉

  27. Darlene says:

I love the new products and tools that are always coming out. I get inspired when I see new paper or embellishments and I have to go create!

  28. Della Dean says:

My favorite aspect of scrapbooking/cardmaking is being able to look at paper and just start creating. All of a sudden there is a beautiful page of memories that will last for years to come. Or a beautiful card that a family member or friend will charish forever.

  29. marylouh says:

I love that my greeting cards can be made with the recipient in mind – as well as my thoughts about the recipient.
I don’t have to settle for a cookie-cutter card. I would love to win a mystery box – Christmas in April.
    thanks

  30. Lisa Norstrom says:

My favorite part of cardmaking is techniques – I love embossing, coloring, spritzing, pretty much everything… I love how it makes me feel – very relaxed – it is almost theraputic!!! I get happy just thinking about it!!! Thanks for a chance to win an exciting mystery box.

  31. paulajo says:

My favorite part of this hobby is taking just paper and making something beautiful out of it. The process itself relaxes me, is therapeutic and makes me forget everything else. It’s also nice to know that everyone appreciates my hand made cards, gifts and projects. Giving and sharing are probably the parts I love the most!

  32. Jean Marziale says:

My favorite part of making cards is the expression on the face of the recipient when they see a handmade card!

    Kitty

  33. Lindarub says:

I like to make cards and give them away . Sometimes I make a lot of the same cards for a tricky tray at church or for a cat rescue.

  34. Jennifer Marusarz says:

My favorite aspect of scrapbooking is using so many great products to make my photos POP on the page – fun in choosing just the right ones, mix & matching papers, embellishments, ribbon, etc., all for my unique memories.

  35. Linda Westenberger says:

All the ideas were so cute, but I really like the printers tray. Reminds me that I have both a large and a small one to put together. Thank for so many great ideas

I just love the feel of paper and all the embellies that are out there. So much inspiration. And of the projects you featured, I love the printer’s tray best.

  39. Bonnie Fadden says:

My favourite thing has to be browsing all the great projects for inspiration. Sometimes I get so immersed in the projects being showcased and the how-to tutorials that I run out of time for my own creations! LOL

  40. HawaiianLibrarian says:

Learning how to use tools or media to make cards, albums, mini books and mixed media items is the best way to destress and make handmade unique gifts. Scrapbook Expo classes and mitis teach so many techniques and showcase so many tools and products.

  43. Grace Tolman says:

Great Easter and Spring ideas. Crossing my fingers for the mystery box. Thanks for the chance.

  44. Stephania Nelson says:

Thanks for the ideas – seeing what others do always sparks ideas of my own. My favorite part of paper-crafting is combining ideas to create something of my own. I don’t like copying things step-for-step and I’m not good at coming up with new ideas on my own, so using what others have done as inspiration hits just the right balance!

  45. Lois Theien says:

I love the Bunny Boxes and the Easter Printer Tray. Those are such great ideas!! I really enjoy getting these fresh and new ideas! Thanks for sharing your creativity!

  46. Blue Rose says:

My favorite aspect of card making is watching my vision come to life and seeing the smiles on the recipients’ faces when they receive them…makes my heart smile.

  47. Kirsten R. says:

The smiles! I also enjoy the making of new friends. We may never see each other in person and that’s ok, we learn and sometimes support each other. Some of us may never even get that with our friends whom we see in person!

  48. Robin says:

My favorite thing about scrapbooking is a mystery! A mystery to me that is. I am a total newbie! I do love to color with colored pencils. I love to create. Expanding my creative horizons is exciting

  49. Kimberly Wildeman says:

I am fairly new to card making but have been a scrapbooker for 30+ years. I am finding I really like making cards to send to my kids, grandbaby, and friends to brighten their day 🙂
