Hello my crafty friends! I just returned home last weekend from a wonderful show in beautiful Pleasanton, California. A fun time was had by all. We really got our craft on in the Creativity Center. I love meeting and teaching scrapbookers; there are some of the best people on earth! This weekend I am happily meeting fellow scrapbookers at our Expo in Orlando, Florida! I hope you can join me at a future show.
I’m really excited to share some fun projects and even a yummy and oh-so-easy dinner for tonight. If you’re like me, I’d rather be in my craft room designing something wonderful than in the kitchen next to a hot stove. 😉
Our first project is a beautiful layout designed by the very talented Melinda Spinks, author of one of my favorite blogs, The Scrap Farm. If you haven’t yet had the pleasure of visiting Melinda’s blog you are in for a real treat.
Are you looking for an easy way to create the perfect placement for your titles in the round? Click here and I’ll take you over to the Jillibean Soup Blog where Melinda shares a clever way to create the perfect placement for all your titles using parchment paper.
Have you ever wondered how those intricate interactive tri-fold cards are made? Then you are going to love the new Tri-shutter card die by Sizzix. It has all kinds of small dies that you can use to embellish your cards. I think it’s another one of those “need it in my life” dies. Check out this adorable Nautical Tri Shutter Card designed by Anna-Karin Evaldsson.
Wasn’t I right? And don’t you just love the new Life Made Simple Die Set designed by Rachel Bright? This die set makes it so easy to create a fun and interactive card. Don’t worry; no more measuring, cutting by hand, and scoring since the die does it all for you. The set also comes with an additional nine dies: labels, flowers, a butterfly, leaves, and two lovely words. Use them with the tri-shutter card or for lots of other projects. It’s ok to accept a helping hand; after all, there should be no stress in our craft world.
Sending Happy Thoughts Your Way Card
There is nothing like receiving happy thoughts through the mail (I’m talking about real snail mail). Don’t you love finding a handmade card in your mailbox? This card is a perfect way to send a smile through the mail; who wouldn’t feel a hug when receiving this cheerful card?
If you’re wondering how Char created this beautiful watercolored treasure, click here and I will lead the way to her great tutorial including all the fine details that went into this cheerful design.
Authentique Classique Home Décor
This next project inspired me so much that I purchased the new Classique Beauty Collection by Authentique at the Pleasanton, CA Scrapbook Expo last weekend. I really love how gorgeous yellows contrast against the neutral whites and blacks.
What a great way to use all those Instagram photos that we all take. You can also shrink your photos down to about 2 x 2.” I’m also a sucker for black and white photos and the Classique Beauty Collection really compliments the photos. Hop on over to the Authentique Blog where you can find step-by-step instructions on how to create your own personalized home décor piece.
It’s time to start thinking about what’s for dinner. How about a yummy Shrimp and Tortellini Pasta Toss that’s ready in less than 1/2 hour?

Add a loaf of nice crusty bread and you have a tasty dinner in no time at all. Bon appetit!
As always, I’m sending happy thoughts your way! See you again next Sunday!
