On this layout I used the alphabet stitching template by Amy Tangerine for American Crafts. I started by painting with watercolors and then stitched over the watercoloring, changing my color of thread where the watercolor changed colors.

Big titles are great templates for stitching! This was a phrase by Dear Lizzy. I die cut it from scrap paper, watercolored over it, removed the template, and then stitched around – again changing threads where the color changed.

I had a looooong flight by myself from Frankfurt, Germany to Denver, Colorado and didn’t know what to do with myself with that much solo time! Enter hand stitching! I used a circles background cut file as a template and used a pencil to draw it then pierce holes.
