Brush Lettering Card

Hey, everyone! Roree here with another Make It! Monday project. Today I am sharing a brush lettering card I created using a stamp and a water-based marker.

I love the look of brush lettering, but freehand brush lettering isn’t a skill I have acquired just yet. So to get the look without all of the practice, I decided to try stamping to achieve the look. I started with Scraptastic Club’s Heart It Races stamp set (October 2014), Crafter’s Companion’s Floral Spectrum Aqua markers, watercolor paper, water, and a fine-tip paint brush.

I chose the “Lovely” stamp from the Heart It Races stamp set, placed it on my stamp block, and colored the stamp with the Leaf Green Spectrum Aqua marker.

I stamped the image onto a panel of watercolor paper.

I wet my brush with water and carefully went over the stamped image.

This gave the stamped image a hand-drawn, brush-lettered look.

I then placed the panel on a card and decorated around it with strips of patterned paper, floral die cuts, and rhinestones.

It was a quick and easy way to achieve the brush-lettered look I was going for without all of the practice.
